The Philips 55PFL3907/F7 supports all the latest technical bells and whistles. The picture quality is very good from my point of view. The sound is ok for such a slim device. The looks are very smart just mounted on the wall. It has not disappointed me in any way, so I speak from a buy recommendation.

The 55LS5700 is the top tier, non 3D LED television from LG. It is a 1080p, 120Hz LCD panel with LED edge lighting. It has the full Smart TV online suite and the Magic Wand remote control.

  • We enjoyed our time spent with the LG 42LS5700 (MSRP $1,099). This mid-range LG turned out to be a very good smart TV, complete with a great contrast, respectable color consistency, and a low power consumption. Surely this TV is worth your hard-earned $1,099, right?

Don't let the MSRP fool you: the LG 42LS5700 can be found for as little as $700 online. We think a TV that produces a good picture and has LG's robust smart platform is worth the MSRP. For $700, though, this is a deal.

  • With so many features done well on this TV, it is hard to not recommend the 32LM6200 (MSRP $650). There is a robust Smart TV platform, industry-leading 3D, and yes, a good quality picture. LG has done a fantastic job at creating a mid-range TV that is feature-heavy and a solid performer.

The design of this TV will catch the eye of many consumers: it is bold and futuristic, and those adjectives apply to the motion controlled remote, too.

  • Haier's 55-inch model is the only screen size in the B2181 series. It's in the price range of $700-$999, depending on which retailer you buy from. The price seems decent for a 55-inch LCD, until you consider that it's an unattractive, non-3D, non-Smart, utterly inflexible product.

We could come to an understanding of this TVs value, if only its performance had been better.
