Most of today's best movies are out in high definition, either 720p or 1080i so our selection of the best cheap movie projectors is narrowed down to the top rated projectors which have an HD resolution of 1080p/i.
HD standard 1080i stands for interlaced scanning, while 1080p is progressive scanning. We recommend 1080p models since progressive scanning displays all the pixel rows simultaneously, giving a much sharper and better picture; as opposed to interlaced which only displays alternated pixel rows at a time. However, the amount of video content available in 1080p is still quite sparse and most television channels use 720p or 1080i.
We also make a balance between an economical budget and good features; so the list below are products which have a Reviewgist score of 60 which means these products are recommended as they've earned positive reviews; and are displayed in the ascending order of their price.
