  • HP has made an aggressive move in the budget PC space with this big-screen all-in-one that will serve as an affordable, generally capable home computer.

  • The HP Envy 23-1050t is a competent All-in-One desktop, but while the hardware satisfies, it omits one or two features you'll miss.

  • Those wanting a high performance all-in-one touchscreen system should take a close look at the HP ENVY 23-d160qd TouchSmart. While it may not have the screen size of other similar priced system, it does offer some high end performance and a good set of customize options to fit one's needs. It is a bit disappointing that HP didn't translate some of the software from their Magic Canvas software to Windows 8 but it is not a major problem.

  • HP tried to capture some high-end Windows 8 excitement for the Spectre One, but it falls short on both features and value.

  • The HP Spectre One 23-e010se is a beautifully designed all-in-one desktop PC that offers a serviceable (but pricey) alternative to the iMac.

  • HP's new SpectreOne certainly looks the part. The unique stand design does a great job of concealing the laptop's internals and the thin edge-to-edge display is attractive from any angle. Aesthetics don't get in the way of processor performance, either. There's plenty of power on tap.
These core strengths are let down by nearly everything else. Audio quality is lackluster, connectivity is poor, the included peripherals feel cheap, and features like a touchscreen and a solid-state drive are missing.

  • A compelling experiment in tablet-desktop hybridization, the Sony Vaio Tap 20 is a great fit for home tech enthusiasts willing to try something new.

  • The Sony VAIO Tap 20 is an all-in-one touch-screen desktop with an integrated battery. You can move it the house without shutting down, so you can enjoy large screen computing in more than just one room.

  • Sony's attempt at the mobile desktop with the VAIO Tap 20 is a mixed bag of offerings. It is certainly the most affordable of the options on the market right now but it isn't quite as portable as it could be and it sacrificed a bit too much on the display. The portability of the system is also hampered by the limited battery life. Still, the system is a tad bit faster than the other hybrid all-in-ones currently available even if the storage system is on the slow side.

  • HP is certainly forward thinking with some of the features on the ENVY Phoenix h9. The inclusion of a solid state cache drive helps the system to really feel faster than many similar systems that have faster processors. They also try to balance out the features by including items such as dual band wireless and Bluetooth. The problem is that the system offers some odd decisions like the memory configuration which is detrimental to the overall performance once applications are loaded.

  • The Dell Axim X51 series offers a nice combination of features, but we were disappointed by the subpar battery life.

  • The Alienware X51 gaming desktop goes after the console gamer that wants a bit more out of their gaming experience.

  • The Alienware X51 proves that big things can come in small packages, offering excellent gaming performance in a slim chassis.
