  • If you've been thinking about a Chromebook, HP's Chromebook 11 might be the one that sways you thanks to a slim and stylish design, lots of complimentary extras, and battery life to take you through the day.

  • The HP Chromebook 11 delivers a vibrant display and sleek design for less than $300, but you'll sacrifice some battery life and performance.

  • Even though the HP Chromebook 11 is completely different from the high-end Pixel, it gets the same rating because it achieves the same mission. It advances Google's Chrome OS platform not with what it does, but how it does it. It exudes style and even a bit of unapologetic Chromebook pride. HP says the Chromebook 11 will ship on October 16. I expect that the white ones will sell better, and a canny retailer will bundle a microfiber cleaning cloth with each one.

  • Though it boasts plenty of ports and a physical keyboard, the SlateBooks x2's offerings don't quite match its $480 price.

  • HP makes a strong attempt at a proper convertible with the SlateBook x2, a screaming-fast, Tegra 4-powered Android tablet, but it's not without flaws.

  • Imagine an Envy x2 at half the price running Android instead of Windows and that is essentially the SlateBook x2 in a nutshell. This 10.1-inch detachable has more in common with the Envy x2 than the Split x2 - and that should be taken as a compliment. These HP models may not look as sleek as the Asus Infinity models, but the FHD IPS display, solid workmanship, versatility and outdoor usability are all indubitably better than the larger and more expensive Split x2.

  • The HP Elitebook Revolve 810 combines industrial-strength construction with portability and convenience, making it a solid convertible laptop for the business user on the go.

  • The HP EliteBook Revolve 810 is definitely no true all-rounder, but rather a decidedly premium convertible ultrabook which happens to be able to take a beating or two. Due to its unusual design, it will definitely attract attention.

  • The HP EliteBook Revolve 810 is a lightweight convertible notebook that features both a great touch screen and comfortable keyboard.

  • For a very attractive $399, the HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11z combines a crisp, responsive 11.6-inch touch screen with good battery life.

  • The HP Pavilion Touchsmart 11z-e000 is ideal for users who want a touch-enabled display, but don't want to spend a lot of money. The only other comparable option at the sub $500 price point is the Asus Q200. The two devices match-up fairly evenly -- with a slight performance edge going to the Q200 -- but the Pavilion Touchsmart 11z's base model is listed at nearly $100 less.

  • If you must have a notebook with a touchscreen, HP delivers a lot of computer for very little money. But you'll need to be patient with this one's performance.

  • The HP EliteBook 2170p is a well-designed business ultraportable with a terrific keyboard and a solidly resilient chassis, and its reasonable priced and good feature set make it worthy of consideration.

  • Initially we asked the question: how should a mini EliteBook look, adhering to the quality standard of the series? Half of this and half of that would be the answer. Case, input devices, and run times meet the high expectations. What amazes us: after the throttling problems of the 14-inch sister model 8460p (2011) now even the smallest member of the series comes without any such performance losses.

Performance is perhaps the right topic to at least partially justify the high price of the EliteBook.

  • The HP Elitebook 2170p is a light and durable business notebook with above-average battery life, but its small touchpad makes it tough to execute Windows 8 gestures.
