  • - We say reasonable because of the effort (and money) Apple puts into the iMac's design and the inclusion of the iLife software suite.

  • - Low price • Good looks • New Core 2 Duo processor • Fantastic software bundle.
    - Online help is abundant: Apple's support pages, particularly the user forums, are helpful, and you can google practically any Mac-related problem and find hundreds of other Mac fans discussing and solving it.

    - The decision to go with Intel processors in iMac may have been wise for Apple, struggling as they were with rising thermals and decreasing yields in previous G5 processors.

  • - The A70z's energy usage was decent for an all-in-one PC.

  • The Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z is a little underdone considering it doesn't have an SD card slot or built-in wireless networking, but it's nevertheless a zippy machine on which you can comfortably run office applications and more. It will cope with image editing, file compression and even video tasks, and its screen resolution of 1440x900 is fine for multitasking. If you want a neat all-in-one solution that won't cost you a lot of money, then the A70z it's well worth considering.

  • The Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z is an all-in-one Windows 7 desktop system targeted towards small- and medium-size businesses. It features a 19â?? (16:10) LCD screen, an Intel Celeron or Core 2 Duo processor, up to 2GB of RAM, and a 500GB SATA hard-disc drive.

  • - The Hulu app was confusing and difficult to navigate, due in part to a menu system that forces you to continually tap at the bottom of the screen to advance lists of content (no accelerated flick-scrolling here at all).
    - Detachable panels keep the TouchSmart's back looking clean.

  • - We were happy to find a manual that documents how to access the internals of the system in order to replace the hard drive, the memory, and the optical drive.

  • - The Lenovo IdeaCentre A600 (3011-4BU) is the upgraded $1,399 model, complete with Blu-ray playback, TV tuner, wireless everything, and a neat four-in-one remote control that may actually be useful for once.

  • - The display is otherwise strong: It delivers powerful saturation and pretty good contrast levels for gaming and Blu-ray movie watching (a built-in Blu-ray player is a common feature for all-in-ones with screens of this size).

  • The Mac Mini remains unique as the smallest mainstream desktop, but competition from Dell and HP has narrowed the gap in features while also offering room for expansion, and at a better price. If your goal is saving space, the Mac Mini is a winner. If you'd rather get the best deal, there are better options.

  • - Ninety days of coverage is too short, especially for a mainstream system such as this one.
    - Comparable slim Windows desktops offer more features for the dollar, as well as expandability • Free phone support for only 90 days.

    - One of the best parts of owning a Mac mini is being able to move it around easily.
    - There are more expandable systems available, but in terms of design and power for your pennies, the Mac mini is one of the better bargains from Apple.
