  • So the ideal PX100 customer will be looking for a little bit of both: A person who's interested in improving their technique or someone else's, but also maybe shooting some game footage from the bleachers too. We do think this represents a large portion of coaches and parents, and if you're one of them, don't be afraid to buy this unique camcorder.

  • The JVC GC-PX100 is pricey but brilliant, and it's the best camcorder of its type in the market. If you're a serious videographer with demanding requirements, the PX100 is more than likely up to the task.

  • The JVC GZ-EX515BEK offers an impressive feature set at a surprisingly low price. Image quality is good, however it's the breadth of features that mark the GZ-EX515BEK out. It incorporates the latest version of JVC's Wi-Fi connectivity, a host of creative options, and even an accessory shoe and microphone input. The only missing features are independent shutter and iris control. Overall though, for less than £300 it's a capable and well-rounded camcorder.

  • If JVC stepped up its construction quality and particularly its user interface it might really have something with this mid-range Everio line, but as things stand the VX815 is a hard camcorder to recommend.

  • The JVC GZ-VX815 packs a hefty set of features - high-definition video capture, 12-megapixel photo capture, and just plain "fun" features - all in a small profile that will fit quite comfortably in your pants or shirt pocket. Think of it as the better way to capture video and still images than on your smartphone (if you got one of those, you can pair it to the camcorder for remote operation).

  • The VX815 is a worthwhile step up from a compact camera or smartphone, but its video quality is beaten by the Panasonic HC-V720 and even the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX20V compact camera.

  • JVC is certainly capable of producing great camcorders, and they've shown us very good models in the past. Unfortunately, last year the company didn't show us anything all that impressive, which is why we're looking forward to getting our hands on the new Everio GZ-GX1 for a full-length review. The camcorder has impressive specs, with Full HD 60p recording, a large 3.5-inch touchscreen, and a host of new WiFi-related features.

  • The JVC Everio GZ-GX1 is a high-end consumer camcorder that captures full 1080p60 video and offers up some compelling Wi-Fi features, but given its overall performance, the price is just too high.

Pixels, price and Wi-Fi functionality make the JVC Everio GZ-GX1 a serious contender in today's consumer camcorder marketplace.
