  • The Konica Minolta 3730DN colour laser printer falls a little short in some areas. However, sheer value for money may yet redeem it.

  • The Konica Minolta 3730DN has an attractive price tag and, pleasingly, extortionate running costs don't follow. However, its limited specification prevents this laser from putting in a strong showing overall. You could pay just a little extra for superior results.

  • A rapid, practical laser printer that's easy to use. It also gives good quality prints, though we would have liked to see it a little quieter.

  • The Konica Minolta Magicolor 8650DN is a well-priced, high-quality large-format colour laser printer.

  • Another manufacturer that started out as document-copying specialists, Konica Minolta has now overseen its magicolor range of colour lasers through several permutations. The magicolor 8650DN is, at the time of writing, the current top-end A3+ model (with the 7450 immediately below), and it's a very impressive beast indeed.

  • Once you're over the initial set-up hurdle, the MagiColour 8650DN is a top-notch printer for design studios.

  • The 4750DN is a compact colour laser made all the better value by the integral duplex unit.

  • - Graphics output is more than good enough for any business need, with crisp edges and vibrant color.

    - The Konica Minolta magicolor 1600W uses Simitri HD Polymerized Toner to create brilliant color and B&W images and text while saving energy due to its low operating temperature.

    - The 100-sheet input tray for the printer may be adequate for small or home offices, but if you plan to approach the 3,500-page-per-month duty cycle (as rated by Konica Minolta), you might want to purchase the optional 500-sheet paper tray for $99.
    - Color photos on plain paper looked good, with pleasing skin tones.

  • - Color ramps were also smooth, with only a little banding in the green bar.
    - Color photos on plain paper looked good, with pleasing skin tones.

  • - Monochrome print speeds are reasonable, though the toner carousel system significantly slows colour printing.
    - Text quality is quite good, though achieving the best results when printing colour graphics may require experimentation.
