Linksys is a Cisco acquired brand of networking products for homes and small offices, offering a gamut of wireless routers. Their equipment is used by enterprise and commercial businesses, telecommunications companies and public institutions and homes and are readily available in North America from consumer electronic retail stores and internet retailers.
Linksys has a diverse range of some of the best Linux based routers which are capable of running on third party firmware, like Linksys WRT54G and its successor, the WRT160N/WRT310N series. The WRT N series supports the faster 802.11n which is the next generation wireless transfer standard supporting much faster speeds of upto 600 Mbits/s compared to the 54 Mbit/s of the older 802.11 a/g standards.
