  • The Magellan SmartGPS bridges a gap between connected navigation apps and car-friendly GPS hardware with its ability to sync with the cloud and connect to the Web via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but its busy interface could use fewer moving parts.

  • The Magellan SmartGPS is an innovative take on the common standalone navigation device thanks to its smartphone integration, but it's overly involved and fussy to use.

  • The Magellan RoadMate 5265T-LMB is another 5-inch GPS coming into an already crowded field. However, this new model brings a new Bluetooth Safe Texting feature that lets you safely reply to incoming calls with pre-written texts. It also comes loaded with a AAA Tour Book Guide which is great for traveling in unfamiliar places.

Taking a trip or just spending a lot of time on your daily commute? Get more from your time in the driver's seat with Magellan's RoadMate 5265T-LMB portable navigator. It offers recommended AAA content for top-rated destinations around the country, and built-in Bluetooth for hands-free calling with your compatible phone. New features like traffic camera alerts and Landmark Guidance round out this trusty travel companion.

  • Rating Unavailable

The RoadMate 5265T-LMB is the elite 5" navigation unit with features that include Lifetime Map Updates, , Traffic Camera Alerts, Portrait/Landscape view, Bluetooth speakerphone and SafeTexting.

  • Rugged, waterproof, and, most importantly, accurate, the Magellan Switch series is a good GPS and ANT+ monitoring option for amateur to enthusiast athletes.

  • Lackluster windshield mount and a user interface that's getting long in the tooth aside, the RoadMate 9250T-LMB excels in the most important area: routing. It's easy to customize the route to avoid certain roads, maximize or minimize highway usage, or simply detour around a traffic jam for a few miles and then resume the planned route.

The huge 7-inch screen and support for the optional Magellan wireless backup camera will please RV/large vehicle drivers.

  • The Magellan Roadmate 9250T-LMB offers several great features and some interesting optional aspects, but its large size makes it hard to recommend to drivers.

  • While the idea of a multi-sport watch is nice, the Magellan Switch Up GPS watch didn't perform to expectations in our tests. It was uncomfortable to wear, too hard to use and its data had a tendency to be inaccurate.

  • Rating Unavailable

Overall, I've found the Switch to be a good first entrant into the market. It's priced a bit lower than the top end Garmin units in the market, and thus it's lower price reflects the reality from a feature standpoint. It's up to each individual person to decide if the feature differences are important to them, or if the cash is important to them.

  • The Magellan Switch Up is an ANT+ GPS cycle computer that can do double duty as a running watch. Heavily customizable display options, quick signal parings and easy downloads make this a good option for cyclists who also like to run, but the clunky bike and wrist mounts could be improved.
