Photographers rely heavily on their equipment, including their computers. Because many photographers are constantly traveling to different locations, a netbook is often used as a substitute for a desktop setup. Like a photographer's camera, a quality netbook is needed to get the job done right. The best netbooks for photographers must meet certain criteria for processing speed, storage space and more.

Processing Speeds
The netbook that a photographer chooses to use for his business should have a fast processing speed. While processors in netbooks are generally slower than those found in conventional laptops and desktops, a unit that comes with at least a 1 GHz processor should be sufficient. Fast processors are needed for those who want to perform complex tasks on their machine, including any photography software.

Lenovo is well-known for their line of netbooks. Their most affordable line boasts a 1.5 GHZ processor, which is more than enough to get you through the day.

Amount of Memory
Memory serves two purposes for photographers: storage and the ability to operate more than one program at a time.

Photographers need to store a vast amount of pictures on their netbook. To do so, they need to buy a product that comes with a 250 gigabyte hard drive or larger. Most netbooks come standard with this amount, so you should be able to find a machine that's affordable.

The netbook that you choose to buy should also come with at least 3 gigabytes worth of memory for efficient processing. This amount of memory will allow you to run multiple programs at once. You will be able to edit photographs in one window while opening a browser window to send your finished photographs to your editor at the same time. Having enough memory will make your job much easier.

Any one of Asus' computers come with sufficient memory and serve as some of the best netbooks for photographers.

Display
There's no point in purchasing a netbook if it doesn't have a good enough display for photography editing.

While netbook displays are supposed to be small, you can find a decent machine that has at least a 12 inch screen. This is large enough for comfortable picture editing yet small enough to be portable.

Apple Netbooks are famous for their superior LED displays. Many photographers prefer this brand because their computers normally come pre-loaded with useful photography software.

For best netbook for photographers list, we limited our selection to the top rated netbooks which have screen size less than 12.1 inches, installed Ram at least 4GB and at least a 1.7 GHz processor.
