AMD’s first dual core processor was the Athlon 64 X2, and its low-voltage variant Athlon X2 was introduces in 2007, offering reduced TDP of 45 W.
The Athlon X2 is ideal for running multiple programs, performs faster than many of Intel’s dual core processors, and is an excellent choice despite the fact that it requires a new motherboard and memory.
