Best Notebook with Price Under $800 and Processor Speed Atleast 2.0 GHz

If you are after a tiny laptop and are certain you won't ever be playing any graphically intensive games on it, you'd be hard pressed to find a better machine than HP's 5310m.

Ports and Features The port selection of the U505 is pretty good for a 13-inch notebook. The keyboard backlighting is nice and even and helps you see what you're typing in a dark classroom. As is common with glossy screens, colors and contrast are quite good and both images and video "pop" off the screen. Speaker performance is good despite the dime-sized stereo speakers located above the keyboard. *

Superbike branding does not a super laptop make, though this bulky notebook's performance isn't bad for the price.

The screen colors seem fine for general browsing and games; however it may require a careful calibration for accurate design-related application. *

Image quality is superb, although the shiny screen can be distracting if you're working in a brightly lit room. *

The keys are flat and springy; the layout lacks a full number pad, but that's far from a dealbreaker on a multimedia notebook. *

With its excellent screen, Blu-ray playback, and low price, the VAIO NW180J/S is a standout media notebook.

Battery life though is mediocre; we managed to get two and a half hours out of it, which is acceptable, but still nowhere near the big leagues of Acer's Timeline series. Mediocre battery. The Sony VAIO NW is a classy-looking midrange laptop with a solid selection of features, and even some advanced options available if you want to configure your own, which we'd highly recommend. At its base, the machine doesn't really standout, but pop in a Blu-Ray drive for less than $100 and you've got a much more capable addition to your home theater setup. Throw in a discrete graphics card from ATI and then you'll really be flying along, but you'll also increase the base price to almost $1...

Display and Audio The 15.6-inch screen on the L505 was suitably bright, and its resolution of 1366 x 768 is more than adequate for its size. *
