Even though CMOS has advanced considerably, the camcorders with the best optical capability are the CCD sensor ones. The best CCD sensor based camcorders combine great light sensitivity with good pixel counts. The best optics camcorder selection also limits to the camcorders which have atleast a 15x optical zoom.

  • DCR-PJ5E handycam camcorder comes with ClearPhoto LCD screen, which gives you better visibility for both indoors and outdoors with high resolution, sharper contrast and more accurate color reproduction. With such display power, the image does not wash out even in bright sunlight and you can check the framing and subject color tones in details. Overall, with this handycam camcorder from Sony, you can easily capture beautiful moments for forever and can share your joy with your loved ones anytime, anywhere you wish to.

  • We like what JVC has done to expand the possibilities of built-in WiFi on consumer camcorders, but the Everio GZ-VX700 has few other redeeming qualities. Poor color accuracy in bright light, middling image sharpness, and terrible handling issues haunt the camcorder to the point that we're unable to recommend the GZ-VX700 for anyone. Sure, the model is cheaper than the competition, but in our mind the camcorder doesn't represent a good value-no matter what it's price tag may be.

  • The very compact JVC Everio GZ-VX700 may not deliver the best video quality you can find, but its diverse Wi-Fi features set it apart from much of the consumer camcorder competition.

  • The SDR-H101 is a fair camcorder, but it's not a great one. Our largest gripe with it is really a pricing one. As we tested this concurrently with the SD80, we were able to compare shot quality quite closely. While the SD80 does cost more, the price difference isn't that immense between the two models at RRP, and yet the overall video capture quality is.

  • The Panasonic SDR-H101 has several good features such as a huge 80 GB hard drive to store up to 74 hours or video recording. With good colour and detail level, the image quality is on par with recent SD camcorders. If that is not enough, you can also use the SD HC slot to add storage. Thanks to the really functional image stabilisation, you can actually shoot at the full 70x optical zoom without a tripod, provided that you have a steady hand.

  • Canon's XH A1 and XH G1 are excellent camcorders for entry-level professionals and independent filmmakers, with hard-to-beat prices for what they offer.

  • Sony's Handycam DCR-SX45, SX65, and SX85 standard-definition camcorders pack a megazoom lens at a reasonable price; one look at the standard-definition video, though, and you might regret not spending a bit more for an HD model.

  • The Sony Handycam DCR-SX45 is one of three flash memory-based digital camcorders (DCR-SX85, DCR-SX65 and DCR-SX45) released together in early 2011. It features a 60x optical zooms lens with support for a 70x extended zoom, a touch-screen display, and a variety of expansion options like Memory Stick and SD/SDHC.

Sony DCR-SX45 is a Handycam Camcorder with 70x Extended Zoom to get even closer to the action, 3.0" touch-screen , Professional quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode, and Intelligent Auto. People are very happy with such a camcorder.
