  • A juicy feature list, gob-smacking design and stellar performance put the DMP-BDT330 among the Blu-ray elite, but online content and presentation is the deck's weak link.

  • We're not convinced that there are better options if you want to introduce smart stuff to your living room, but this Panasonic Blu-ray player is nevertheless a great all-digital option. It's the easiest to use of any Blu-ray deck we've tested, and though it lacks some apps in among a rather old-fashioned GUI, it's also the fastest working.
We've got no complaints about Blu-ray playback, either in 2D or 3D, while DVDs and online video are skilfully upscaled.

  • When it comes down to it, all of that extra stuff is nice, but the main job of a Blu-ray player is to deliver high-quality video from DVDs and Blu-ray discs. There are very few players that can do as good a job on Australian discs as the Panasonic DMP-BDT330.

  • The Panasonic DMP-BDT230 is a mostly solid Blu-ray player, except it serves up obnoxious ads in its onscreen interface.

  • Viewers after the latest and greatest collection of apps should look beyond the DMP-BDT230 and head for a Samsung deck. However, if you're after the very finest picture quality not only from 2D and 3D Blu-ray, but from upscaled DVDs, too, the low-priced DMP-BDT230 is dead centre of the sweet-spot.

  • The DMP-BDT230 powers up and loads discs very quickly, and I didn't encounter any freezes or stutters during disc playback. The player passed all of the 480i/1080i processing tests on the HQV Benchmark DVD and HD HQV Benchmark Blu-ray disc (Silicon Optix). For the most part, it cleanly rendered my real-world DVD scenes from Gladiator (DreamWorks) and The Bourne Identity (Universal), producing only an instant of moir in both scenes before it locked onto the 3:2 cadence.

  • It's great to see Panasonic back challenging the likes of Denon, Marantz, and Onkyo with a high-end, audiophile-focused Blu-ray player, and thanks to its superlative picture and sound quality, coupled with a killer feature list, it's better value than the brands above can offer although true audiophiles might be put off by the lack of DVD-Audio and SACD playback. Overall though, the DMP-BDT500 is an accomplished Blu-ray player, truly worthy of its flagship status.

  • The DMP-BDT500 is a niche Blu-ray player in some senses. If you don't own home cinema kit and simply want to connect to a TV set, its extensive audio adjustment options aren't necessary: save your money and buy a cheaper Panasonic. The same's true if you're not into music, or prefer to use a separate component for music replay. But if you want one deck to do the lot, it's a must-try.

  • The Panasonic DMP-BDT500 marks a fine return to high-end Blu-ray for the Japanese brand. Its flagship disc spinner boasts a wide range of features, including Viera Connect, 3D support and DLNA streaming, not to mention its sophisticated audio components, robust build quality and generous connections.

  • With its more "sensible" design and fewer features, the Panasonic DMP-BDT220 unsurprisingly doesn't scale the same heights as the BDT320. But thankfully the important stuff is all present and correct, such as built-in Wi-Fi, Viera Connect, network streaming from DLNA and non-DLNA devices, Skype and 3D Blu-ray compatibility, which means you don't have to compromise on the good stuff if the BDT320 is just out of your financial reach.

  • Stuffed with goodies on a Wi-Fi-powered Viera Connect, the Panasonic DMP-BDT320 handles a plethora of digital files and indulges - albeit in a somewhat muddy manner - in DLNA home networking.
A super-slim Blu-ray player that needs only Wi-Fi to perform a host of tricks, the Panasonic DMP-BDT320 boasts excellent 2D and 3D Blu-ray coupled with reference-level DVD upscaling. This makes for a deck that has few flaws.

Smart TVs aren't selling all that much because people are contented with their displays. Those Internet-connected displays look appealing but a lot of people are not willing to spend so much on a TV that has to replace an older model. With Panasonic's newest Blu-ray players including the Panasonic DMP-BDT320, you no longer need to buy a new TV because this Blu-ray player can connect wirelessly to the Internet and there are plenty of applications that can turn your ordinary display into a smart one.

  • If you're looking for a quirky, stylish Blu-ray player that takes up a lot less room than the usual black boxes, then the DMP-BBT01 is a top choice. Its design will certainly turn heads, particularly with four installation options to show it off.
