  • The Brother MFC-J5720DW inkjet multifunction printer delivers decent speed and output quality. More importantly, it offers a low running cost and has the ability to print at up to 11 by 17 inches.

  • The Brother MFC-J5270DW has very flexible paper handling facilities and both business and photo features making it a versatile device. We found some problems with the print quality in
duplex copies and had some paper misfeeds. The default photo print mode is also surprisingly slow. These drop-offs can be worked around, though, and otherwise, this is a good business inkjet.

  • Let’s face it, there are a bunch of strong-performing business printers out there; choosing one isn’t easy. The good news is that as long as you keep your eye on the ink cost, most of them, including this MFC-J5720DW, should serve you well.

  • The Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab prints high-quality photos at up to 5 by 7 inches, but the cost of even 4-by-6 photos is higher than with Epson's 4-by-6 dedicated photo printers.

  • The state of the art in snapshot printing—a niche, granted, between more versatile inkjets and larger photo printers—this cute, costly compact happily churns out handsome 4x6's and 5x7's from a wide variety of devices.

  • - This printer wasn't built for professional photographers.
    - It's a great printer for small images that were taken with large amounts of love.
    - Because the PM-400 isn't industrial strength, you're not getting the fastest print speeds or the highest-quality prints.
    - Wi-Fi is a bit tricker, but still very quick and easy.
    - You'll be hard-pressed to find anything easier to use than the PM-400.
    - In a few hours I was able to set up the PM-400 and relive the first six months of Mila's life.

  • The HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw color laser printer is a great fit for personal or light-duty shared use, with fast speed, high-quality output, network connectivity, and support for mobile printing.

  • There’s a lot to like about the HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw, from its smart looks to its versatile wireless connection and duplex print. We’d like to see a higher capacity paper tray – or an option for a second tray – but other than that, it’s a very good choice for anybody who needs quality black and colour laser print, without a high purchase cost.

  • The Dell Smart Printer - S2810dn monochrome laser delivers suitable speed, output quality, and paper handling for moderate use in a small office.

  • The Dell S2810dn is a speedy mono laser that's cheap to run, with good-quality output. It’s bulkier than it needs to be, and its 250-sheet paper tray will mean more frequent refills than you’d expect for this class of printer. Even so, it represents a good choice for small-office or workgroup use.

  • A print-only mono laser, the S2810dn is a solid performer, but other lasers (even Dell ones) offer deeper feature sets for less cash.

  • The Canon Pixma iP110 offers typical speed for a portable inkjet printer and suitable paper handling, plus unusually good photo quality and the ability to connect directly to laptops or mobile devices wirelessly.

  • An impressively compact photo printer for output up to legal-size, the iP110 performs and prints well, but you’ll pay—in both initial cost and upkeep—for that portability.

  • When researching this review, I read some comments from photographers who thought that this mobile photo printer was the best thing since digital cameras themselves. As a photo printer, its diminutive size and overall print quality make it ideal for printing samples and proofs on the road—at the event you were hired to shoot!. In any case, if you had any notions about adopting it as an everyday printer, it wasn’t made for that—unless, that is, you don’t print everyday, or every other day, or every two days, for that matter.
