  • Within the TV industry, reviewers and hobbyists alike agree on one thing: Plasma TVs produce a better picture than LCDs. And, hand over heart, it's true. However, LCDs like the Samsung F6300 redeem the fickle technology's mass popularity: This TV's picture looks very good, hands down, and its software works with fluid precision.

If you're in the market for a mid-sized TV, and want the bright light levels of LCD over the ink-black shadows produced by plasmas, the 46-inch F6300 is a great option.

The UN55F6300 is strong in value in 2013 in the 60 inch market. By eliminating 3D and micro dimming and sticking with some of the features that matter most, this is a tough model to beat in the mid-level LED TV category.

  • The Samsung UN50F5500 has a lot to offer even though much has been done away with to get the price down. For the price, the picture quality is strong and the Smart Hub adds more than enough functionality to make this a great choice. Competing models include the 50LN5700 from LG, The Panasonic TC-L50E60, and the Toshiba 50L4300U. The F5500 wins out on price against all three.

This is a strange little 1080p set. For regular programming, a television of this size does not really benefit from the full HD screen. It would even be hard to see the difference in a 1080p blu ray. The real usefulness of this becomes clear when a computer is hooked up to it. A 1080p monitor allows much more work space than a 720p monitor. 22 inches is a great size for a monitor as well. Think of it as a monitor with a TV tuner built in. At just north of $200, it's not such a bad deal either.

This TV is perfect for rooms that are a little tight on space. It could be a kitchen, kid's playroom, an office, or dorm room. In terms of features, there isn't much to talk about here. It is as bare bones as it gets. 720p resolution a fine for a TV of this size and the 60Hz refresh rate won't be terribly noticable. It is only 2 lbs. lighter than the 32 inch version, so you can get a feel for how close they are in size.

  • The Samsung UN29F4000 is a good choice if you need a smaller TV for your bedroom, a guest room, or even sheltered poolside - it's certainly bright enough to combat some sunlight. Cable content is going to look best here, as 1080p Blu-ray discs won't have room to breathe at this resolution. The F4000 would make a decent companion for playing games off of Steam or a PS3, too, as its motion responsiveness is better than average.

For it's best designed and developed, Samsung UN19F4000 has successfully proved its performance to the customers. For a small-sized LED TV, this 19-inch LED TV has also worked beyond customers- imagination.

  • The Samsung UNES6500 is a well-featured midrange television with good color but otherwise ho-hum picture quality and value.

  • At $1599 the UN55ES6500 is a very good value with all of the above mentioned features and picture quality attributes. It's pretty loaded for this price. Some of the only features that it does not have such as Smart Interaction are not really worth it. The picture is also not as standout as the top tier models, but is still very good. Competition is from the LG 55LM6700 and the Sony KDL-55HX750 and an assortment of plasma TVs.

  • The Samsung UN46ES6500 (MSRP $1,729) is loaded with great features like Smart TV functionality, 3D, and media sharing via USB, just to name a few. Samsung deserves credit for not only implementing these features, but doing them very well.

The picture quality was excellent on this TV. Blacks were very dark and whites were modestly bright. The 46ES6500 had a great contrast ratio of 2658:1 and the screen had consistent black and white levels. Colors were not the best we've ever seen, but were still pretty good and hold up well compared to similar TVs.
