For the best Sharp televisions from Sharp we've limited our selection to the top rated HDTVs which have an LCD response time of 5 ms or less. The response time of an LCD or LED TV indicates how quickly your TV jumps from one image frame to the next. The lower the response time the crisper the picture quality while watching fast paced movie scenes.

  • Although priced well for a large 3D TV, the Sharp LC-LE745U series can't muster the 2D picture quality to earn our recommendation as a good value.

  • Value is what the LC-70LE745U is all about. Its got a strong set of features with varying qualities among them, but most of all its the price per square inch equation that Sharp is really winning on. Plasma TVs usually give these large Sharp's a good run for their money, but in 70" Sharp sort of rules the day with only a handful of TVs to compete. There are a few 65" plasma TVs such as the Panasonic TC-P65ST50 which sells for a similar $2500 or so. Samsung's new 75" ES9000 is much more expensive.

  • With decent picture quality and great pricing, the Sharp LC-LE640U series makes a strong case for mainstream TV shoppers who want to go bigger.

  • The Sharp LC-52LE640U ($1199.99 MSRP) is one in a series of large-screen, 1080p, Smart TVs, with a heavy motion processing feature. All of these televisions come with AQUOS Link, which allows communication between several AQUOS devices, like DVD players, as well as DLNA to share content across computers and phones. On such big displays, picture quality becomes paramount.

  • Sharp's Aquos LE640U line is full of big HDTVs with gorgeous pictures, but their interface isn't as polished as other screens.

  • Well, there is hardly anything to currently compete with this 80 inch TV in size. At $5500 or so it's not an inexpensive option and does not seem to offer the fantastic value proposition that some of the other Sharp sizes like 70" and 60" have. There is a Samsung UN75ES9000 75-inch model due to hit the market soon. It will sell for just less than $10,000 if initial reports are true so I guess that makes this Sharp a discount model.

  • One of the reasons I've mentioned plasma TVs throughout this review in comparison with these new huge Sharp LED TVs is that they compete in price and value. Sharp has really set the benchmark in these very large LED-LCD screen sizes with compelling pricing. Panasonic and Samsung have great plasma TVs with some superior but very different picture attributes. It really depends on your needs. Regardless, there are plenty of 60" plasma choices and even some 65".
