Best Sony Camcorder of 2013

Sony is one of the oldest camcorder manufacturers in the world and has a history of launching in-house standards for the latest video and audio technologies. This often results in Sony products being incompatible with a wide range non-Sony accessories. Case in point is the Flash Memory format - while all other manufacturers use SD cards to store the same, Sony uses its proprietary Memory Stick format. Memory Stick format though has found little support outside of Sony's camcorders as SD Card is a more affordable and better performing (in terms of read/write speeds) technology.
The best Sony camcorders are some of the affordable offerings (around $500) in the consumer camcorder category. These are great portable tools for outdoor shooting and provide features like MPEG movie mode for quick online sharing. Sony is also a reputed brand for Hard Disk Drive based camcorders.
