Flat panel hdtvs under $400 are some of the best TVs for the price and are mostly the less expensive LCD HDTV's. LED and Plasma HDTV's are mostly priced at a much higher price point though very few Plasma TV's are available at the sub-$400 price point.

At the sub-$400 price point typically you cannot buy a good flat panel tv above the 24 inch to 32 inch screen size and the best LCD options come from brands like Vizio and Panasonic.

  • The 32 inch M321d sells for a modest $398 and is very attractively priced for this size and feature set. The LG 32LN5700 has the same set of features and sells for a bit more. This TV should be a great seller.

This is a strange little 1080p set. For regular programming, a television of this size does not really benefit from the full HD screen. It would even be hard to see the difference in a 1080p blu ray. The real usefulness of this becomes clear when a computer is hooked up to it. A 1080p monitor allows much more work space than a 720p monitor. 22 inches is a great size for a monitor as well. Think of it as a monitor with a TV tuner built in. At just north of $200, it's not such a bad deal either.
