  • The Viewsonic VG2437mc-LED is a feature-rich business display with an affordable price tag. It?s a solid performer and doesn?t require much power, but it suffers from narrow viewing angles.

  • A great monitor with high colour accuracy and an adjustable stand, but no HDMI input.

  • For businesses seeking a full featured monitor that is budget-friendly and inexpensive to operate, the Viewsonic VG2437mc-LED is a good bet. It offers good colour and greyscale performance and lots of features, including an ergonomic stand and a built-in webcam. Its motion handling prowess makes it ideal for after-hours use as well. That said, its subpar viewing angle performance prevents it from displacing the NEC Multisync EA232WMi as our current favourite when it comes to mid-sized business monitors.

  • When it comes to the best picture quality and absolute convenience, the ViewSonic VA2406M-LED is a little lacking, but the pros outweigh the cons. The LED backlighting is a plus. It gives this monitor an advantage over many other monitors using TN technology by helping reduce power consumption and improve contrast and brightness. It is a good monitor and a solid purchase.

  • The ViewSonic VX2460H-LED is an exceedingly slim and stylish monitor which performs well and comes with a useful trio of inputs. Image quality is bettered by IPS displays, but this model is a definite improvement over the budget displays often bundled with PCs and will look good in a home or executive environment.

  • Any 24-inch monitor for under £150 was considered a bona fide barrel scraper not that long ago. But things are different now and this ViewSonic screen finds itself pitched against some relatively stiff competition.
The first surprise is that it sports TN technology for its LCD panel. IPS panels, which are generally superior, are now available for under £150 in the 23 to 24-inch segment. On the other hand, the ViewSonic also sports an LED backlight. That in itself is nothing special.

  • The ViewSonic VX2460h-LED won't win many fans from the front, but its 6.8mm depth will drop jaws from the side. Performance is good with even, consistent colour reproduction and the quick response time with appeal to gamers. Against this is the fact it costs more than many budget IPS panels which lift colour and viewing angles to another level.

  • The ViewSonic VX2453mh-LED is one of three ultra-slim, LCD monitors between 2 and 27 released together in early 2011. It and its peers upgrade from the VA48m-LED by incorporating a much slimmer bezel.

  • Another strong sub-£200 flat-panel, and this one offers copious screen space. It isn't always the easiest to operate, and its design tends towards the basic. But its given green credentials, lean casing and carefully weighted colour palette make it a very appetising buy, and a snip at a mere £155.

  • Offering decent image quality at a low price, the Viewsonic VX2453mh-LED enters an aggressive part of the market with an aggressively-specced monitor. The 30,000,000:1 contrast ratio is of course nonsense, but the dual HDMI inputs and a stand that lets it sit flush with a work surface or stand up like a standard computer screen give it a few worthwhile advantages over budget rivals.

    - No HDMI input. 16. 9 aspect ratio is not ideal for web browsing, office productivity software.

  • - Text on a page of fonts of different sizes looked sharp, even when at a very small (6-point) size.

  • - The ViewSonic VG2427wm's controls sit in the middle of the bottom bezel and are straightforward to use.
    - Text in particular is clear and sharp with no visible aberrations and fast motion is similarly impressive.
