The latest version Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows 8 are aimed mainly at the consumer market and offer a variety of new features. It features a new user interface (Metro) based on 'Live Tiles' concept where the start screen will display updates such as messages, e-mails etc in real time.

Internet Explorer offers fast web browsing. Also the Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows 8 OS support Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail etc which can be synced with the PC. It also comes bundled with Office Suite. Large collection of games based on Xbox Live is also supported. But presently the number of applications available in the market is comparatively low.

MicroSoft has recently released a new version Windows Phone 8 and, Nokia, Samsung, HTC and Lenovo devices have been launched with this latest version and all devices are based on System on chips from Qualcomm (Snapdragon S4 Plus).
