I was a little leary at first about it being a refurbished desktop, but it was such a good price, i couldn't pass it up. It arrived earlier than expected, which was wonderful, and came with all the correct parts and user materials. It is in excellent condition, and runs like a champ! Overall, i'm thrilled with this purchase.
Good For Multimedia
The HP Pavilion Elite h8-1010 desktop features a mini tower case that is great for college dorm rooms or smaller apartments. The system has an Intel Core i5-2390T processor, which is a dual-core chip that runs at 2.7GHz. The HP Pavilion HPE h8-1010 also features an AMD Radeon HD 6450 video card that can handle non-intensive games, such as World of Warcraft.
Screen and resolution are excellent. Plenty fast and compact. The packaged arrived and the wireless keyboard was broken, I didn't feel it was worth returning just for a keyboard so I kept it regardless. Plenty of ports and Bluetooth is great. Internal speakers sound better than most. I do love the all in one nature, makes for a clean desk. I would recommend.
The HP Omni 27 is certainly an attractive all-in-one with a large 27-inch display that will likely attract many buyers. The issue is that the system while it has a big screen falls short of what the competition offers at the same screen size by offering a lower resolution and detailed display panel. Add to this a price tag that puts it at the premium end of the all-in-one market, many buyers would get more features and performance by looking at a smaller display option.
Excellent audio quality
The larger display obviously costs HP more to acquire, and that cost is passed on to the user. A base price of $1,199 is far from outrageous in fact, this is towards the less expensive end of the desktop systems we normally review but it's quite a lot for system that only has a Core i5-2400S processor. Ivy Bridge may address these concerns but, as tested, the Omni 27 is one of the slowest desktops we've had in our office over the past year.
Even the display isn't a strong point.
Large and affordable all-in-one
If you want a large all-in-one for a relative budget price, the HP Omni 27 is a great choice. While I would have liked to have seen a full 2560x1440 panel, the screen will be more than enough for most, and HP's partnership with Beat Audio means a sound expereince that's second to none. Plenty of upgrade options, both before and after purchase, make it a very configurable machine.
TouchSmart interface is great
The HP TouchSmart 9300 Elite is HP's business version of its successful TouchSmart 610 system. As such, it has a responsive touch screen, an ergonomically friendly 65-degree tilt mechanism, and a whole lot of computing power. This PC is the one to get if you're serious about developing touch applications for your business clients.
Perform business tasks quickly and easily
Ultimately, the HP TouchSmart 9300 Elite does what it's supposed to do: perform business tasks quickly and easily. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of extras (especially on something called "Elite") and with the boring-yet-functional design. But you can find plenty of consumer-oriented offerings from HP and others designed to look a little nicer on your desk. If you're looking to get things done, the TouchSmart 9300 Elite fits the bill very nicely indeed.
