Rugged, waterproof and well-equipped, but at a price
Plenty tough, just mind the night time noise
The Nikon Coolpix AW120 isn’t for everyone. It’s for holidaymakers looking for an easy-to-use tough camera that will accompany them into the pool or ocean.
'The Nikon P7000 is a serious camera for those serious about photography but don't want to commit to a DSLR. '
'In our tests, the Nikon Coolpix P7000 also did the best job of in-camera editing: After snapping a shot, you can choose to have the camera automatically enhance the image via Nikon's Active D Lighting correction, Quick Retouch mode, or skin softening; and you can even apply filters such as a Miniature Mode setting.'
'Using the P7000 was an enjoyable experience for us.'
'we found the Delete button a little difficult to reach'
'I wasn't terribly impressed with Nikon's version of face detection -- at best I got it to recognize one face in the photo I've been using as a test lately.'
'unique twist lens design'
'a point and shoot digital camera without any really tricky features to confuse you.'
'with its only average performance and handling, this product will struggle against similarly priced and specced offerings'
'It has less zoom, fewer manual controls, and poorer performance than most of the competition, making it a tough camera to recommend enthusiastically.'
'the image was somewhat dull, with a cold, cyanic cast.'
