The camera itself seems well made and it is really easy to hold on to. I quickly put in an old 8GB SDHC card and glanced at the quick start pamphlet (a CD came with it with the manual, but I haven't checked it out yet). Once I turned it on, it asked for the date and time and was ready to go. I took a few pictures and checked out the zoom (which is really nice ... I was able to zoom in on a flower from across the room with great clarity). I also took a short video.
it is a bit bulky, the materials feel pretty cheap and it feels a bit like a toy camera. The little latch in the back to open the camera and insert the zink paper is really flimsy. I accidentally bumped it once and all the papers fell out. The power button on top can easily be accidentally toggled as well. I've resorted to keeping a rubberband around the body to keep it from opening.
Ok for a one time use
I bought this camera in a bind I was in need of one, had moved, and my camera was packed away and not with me at the time. I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong but most of the pictures seem out of focus and blurry even if you mess with the settings. If you want a close up it seems like you can forget it, the closer the worse it is. I got stuck outside in a very bad storm hiking in a strong steady rain for about 1-2 hours.
Sharp image quality
The Polaroid Z340 is the only camera right now that brings back the magic without giving up the advantages of a digital camera. Thatâ??s enough to earn a hearty thumbs-up from us, but more importantly, the Z340 actually does its job pretty well. Photo quality is plenty clean and clear enough for the 4Ã?3â?³ prints that it makes, and the ink-free printer works well for a small, portable unit.
Integrated Zink printer is fast
Overall, the Z340 is fun, at least for a short while, but the limitations of the camera and its awkward ergonomics are just frustrating. The battery life is shortâ?? you can print maybe 20 pictures before it needs recharged, and there's no charge indicator when it's plugged in. Furthermore, the battery charges in the camera, so while it's recharging you can't really use it to take pictures.
Pictures are sharp and clear consistently, hard to take a bad one
