All round I am extremely pleased with camera: handles well and feels solid and chunky but not too heavy. The zoom is outstanding - optical to x60 excellent and the digital iZoom doubles this with no loss in image size and manageable loss in quality, there is more digital zoom on top of this but then noise really starts to become unacceptable.
Image quality is slightly better than on the previous SX260
The Canon PowerShot SX270 HS is essentially the same as the flagship SX280 HS model, but without that camera's GPS and wi-fi functionality. That's a shame, especially as there's only a small difference in the price of the two cameras, but overall the Canon PowerShot SX270 HS is a well-specified travel-zoom that offers the joint-best image quality in its class.
Lots of optical zoom, Built-in Wi-Fi, Good value for money
Cameras with Wi-Fi tend to be significantly more expensive than those with similar specs and no Wi-Fi, given the Fujifilm FinePix S8400W has a 44x optical zoom lens, the £239.99 price tag looks extremely fair. There are loads of other features for the aspiring photographer to enjoy, it's ideal for someone who wants to step up their photography but doesn't want the burden of an expensive DSLR and a kit bag of lenses.
