A Truly Great Shaver!
Until this shaver I have been of the opinion the electrics couldn't compare to the closeness of the Gillette Fusion (my previous fav), but all that has changed with the ES8243A. For the first time I can say the shave is as close as the non-electric options, and with no razor burn. IMO Panasonic has hit the bullseye with this product.
Not Bad For Simple Trimming
These clippers are fine for cutting shorter hair, say less than an inch long. These are perfect for keeping short hair short. These are great for trimming around your ears and neck. These are more for maintaining a short haircut or for trimming. These clippers won't do a great job cutting down your David Cassidy Tribute haircut, you would need a more heavy duty set for that.
I like this Philips clipper. It has a nice adjustable thingie for different lengths.
After 1 year of using the product, great traveling shaver
First of all here are some points to put into consideration before buying. This shaver is for...
1. Someone who is looking for a TRAVEL shaver that is small and convenient to carry. It comes with a neat carrying case, and only requires two AA batteries that can be found anywhere. One set of batteries can approx. last up to 20 days/shaves-ish. It will still go on, but I can feel the motor running at lower speed.
2. Someone who prefers WET shaving experience whenever possible.
Great Shave, Battery Life
What impresses me most about this shaver, as opposed to the Philips/Norelco shavers I've had before, is the battery life. The others were good, but I've gotten over 24 shaves from one charge (Caveat: I have what most people would call a "very light" beard- I need to shave or I look like a dork). I appreciate that it's quieter and lighter than past models, although admittedly at first it felt "cheaper."
