I have owned three tv's (this is my second JVC)and it is a definite step ahead of any previous set I've owned. I'm very pleased with the ease of setup (3 minutes from box to TV stand)! The picture size is the factor weighing the most in my decision to purchase this product-I have issues with my eyes-and I'm not regretting buying it at all. The 3D sound wasn't for me, but I had it all customized in minutes and haven't had to tweak anything. Kudos.
Color integrity, motion performance, and viewing angle are actually above average
Right off the bat, we feel it's necessary to point out that $800 for a 47-inch LCD is pretty fair. You'd pay about the same amount for a 2012 Samsung of the same size. This TV is very basic, but if it's within your budget range, it will get the job done.
From a picture quality standpoint, this isn't the top-tier of tech, but we've seen much worse. This JVC offers the full range of colors, accurately and richly, without any bunk processing or oversharpening.
32 Emerald series
Been using for one month on average eight hours a day. I like this TV. I use it as a PC monitor sitting 5 to 10 feet away at various times and the picture is very comfortable to look at. Yes there is 444 chroma subsampling if you use the 1366 or 1360 native resolution's. I got it hooked up to HDMI to my PC with a Radeon 7700 video card. Games like Guild wars two look great especially with the program called sweet FX which makes the colors look even better.
Great peformance for a low price
The image quality is good with no artifacts or ghosting during fast action. Overall brightness isn't bad but other manufacturers have better offerings in this department. Color reproduction seems good and blacks are deep and uniform. This TV also has an ambient light sensor that is used to adjust the back light brightness dynamically depending on the light in the room and the brightness of the image.
CrystalMotion and CrystalColor processing at value pricing.
BlackCrystal is the name JVC is using for their flagship line of LED back lit LCD televisions, the BlackCrystal E-LED line has the same features as the normal BlackCrystal televisions but uses LED edge lighting for a slimmer depth. With "CrystalMotion" 120Hz processing and many of the features the JLE32BC3001 has lots of bells and whistles yet still comes in at a value price.
