Fantastic TV for the price!
I went from a 32" Philips LCD TV to this and I have to admit the Black level of the Vizio isn't as dark (probably a byproduct of the edge-lighting). However, don't be scared of Vizio because some people have had excessive edge-lighting issues. If your unit has a lot of this issue, then exchange it within the return period.
Just AMAZING 3D
The glass is very reflective! I would have to have some very good curtains to block out the bright sunlight reflecting from the screen. Other than that this was/is a great buy for the size and features. I am NOT anywhere near a videofile, so pleasing me might be a lot easier, but there were no dead pixels, no video/contrast adjustments needed. I will do a video fine tuning this summer, but I only expect to be tweeking (minor adjustments).
Active 3D is available
The PN51F5500 is the smallest size in the mid tier plasma series from Samsung. Picture quality is strong here but it lacks a bit when compared to the top tier F8500 plasma. This is to be expected, but the feature set is still quite good. The F5500 uses Active 3D to create 3D images, Samsung's new Smart Hub is offered with all the apps and online content you would ever need.
Great Picture and Good Sound
I needed a small Tv, and was pleasantly surprised by this 23" Toshiba. Great picture and good sound accompanied by lots of input / output options - including 3 HDMI ports, Digital Audio Out, Digital Audio In, PC Audio In, Component video and PC in. Setup and programming was easy, though I did have to consult the online users-guide to answer a few questions.
Amazingly deep blacks, but beleaguered by crummy color
It's frustrating that such spectacular contrast on an affordable TV should go to waste like this. The L1350U (MSRP $499.99) renders some truly beautiful blacks, but its colors just can't keep up. How sad! Like a magnificent race horse with a fear of circles... But in practical terms, regular content appeared washed out and unrealistic, and even Blu-ray discs lacked vibrancy of color. What a waste!
Don't be wooed by this TV's pretty price tag.
This Plasma panel offers the best picture quality for the price!
The F5300 is truly a winner at this price. Colors are bright and vibrant, while the blacks are deep and true. At this price, the whites are going to be a little greyish and the blacks aren't going to be as deep as the more expensive models. You can't really expect the quality to match the more expensive Samsung models. With the proper calibrations, this TV will still shine and can look extremely natural and true.
Deep blacks and good detail in dark scenes
The PN60F5300 is one of the top value plasmas for 2013/2014. It skips all extra features for picture quality, internet connectivity, and 3D functionality that the F5500 series and F8500 series plasmas employ. What you get is a large screen with the always good picture quality of a plasma TV at an affordable price point. The 60 inch size sits in the middle of the F5300 series and is enough screen for medium to large sized rooms.
Offers the comfort of a big HDTV with an affordable price tag
At the end of the day, it seems that LG 42LM3700 is quite a good buy. It offers the basic functionality of a modern HDTV for an affordable price. Whatever you want to do with it, you'll most probably be satisfied with it.
Conversion of 2D to 3D picture effect
Large screen helps in optimal viewing experience of movies in a bigger screen, and even in a HD mode with better clarity. In addition to this, the latest technology of LG Cinema 3D, the viewers are able to transform the 2D version of visuals into advanced 3D version, by controlling the depth of the picture. Stunning and enhanced three-dimensional entertaining system has provided an added edge to the device by LG, model number 42LM3700.
This size is an excellent value offering for the screen space and picture quality at the price
We are impressed to see it toting a 120Hz panel for fast action performance. It is quite the plus for a budget model and a good reason to give this set another look. The LN5400 series is the perfect candidate for those who view 3D and Smart TV features as unnecessary bells and whistles but still want a full HD resolution picture.
Clunky and plain... but it could be worse
The LN5400 series does a lot of things right: the menu is stuffed with options; the Picture Wizard calibrator is a useful addition to any display; the simple design avoids fashion faux pas; and the colors on-screen are accurate and perfectly balanced. Unfortunately, this entry-level line-up is more focused on usability than picture quality.
With a very narrow contrast ratio and permanent 120 Hz motion enhancement, this is not a TV for movie lovers.
Excellent picture for the price
The picture looks great. The speakers are pretty bad they crackle when turned up. But if you hook up surround it's not an issue. The base is pretty lame you have to screw it on, i've never seen that before. For $400 it's a great tv. I was surprised bc i figured it was a westinghouse POS, but it seems legit. If your on a budget or just cheap as hell, this tv is what's up
Surprisingly good contrast, since everything else is subpar
Testing budget TVs offers a thrill that higher-end models don't give. Every time I review one of these low-end displays, I hope that it'll be the one, that diamond in the rough with outstanding picture quality for a bargain. The Westinghouse CW46T9FW is just the latest disappointment. And to add insult to injury, it doesn't even look good aesthetically.
Saying that everything is bad on this Westinghouse would be dishonest. It has good contrast, plus its audio quality is actually decent.
What I consider to be a budget friendly LCD TV
The out of the box colors, are set to factory specifications and I found them to be excellent. There was a minor tweaking with contrast to improve movie shadow detail in nighttime movie scenes. Other than that, everything is good to go, right out of the box.
Best big-screen lcd TV value
Is an outstanding value highly accurate color and very good bright-room performance, deep black levels with great shadow detail,Out-of-the box the picture of the Magnavox 50MF412B/F7 is excellent, the quality in picture and sound exceeds any of the more expensive brands.
The main trouble with judging TV sets based on their contrast ratios is that there are no industry standards for these ratios.
