Needs a sound boost
I needed to replace my old 19" CRT TV (yes really) because my cable company got rid of all analog channels and I hated having to turn on devices just to check the weather.
I couldn't find any reviews anywhere on this TV and it's one of the few brands I recognized. My HDD's are Phillips and they're awesome so I had hoped this TV would be too.
Nice for video games, not so great on sound
This is a nice little TV that I managed to snag at around 140$. (160$ with warranty.) It's got a really nice, vibrant picture once you adjust the settings to your tastes. Might wish for a little more saturation. But just a tiny little bit. The sound...Well, that's pretty crap. Honestly. I'll probably invest in better speakers somewhere in the future, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. At the price I got it, it was worth it. As another reviewer said, it's a nice little gem.
Overall, a very good TN-type display, especially as a computer monitor
To my eyes, the grayscale looks fantastic. Raising the gamma setting can improve very light and dark image detail, since red and especially blue show some crushing in calibration test patterns. Again, this also improves low vertical viewing angles without having to resort to MagicAngle.
With MagicAngle off, black levels are OK for an LCD TV. Image detail is decent.
Great energy saver!
This TV is run on a 200 watt DC solar system along with several other LED products, a car stereo system and an occasional AC/inverter electronic device. It is an upgrade from an 18.5" LED DC TV. The system continues to perform superbly with judicious use of power. This TV is fabulous. It has a great picture and it's obvious low energy use is remarkable.
Very quick to set up and take apart. I bought this for my RV. Just remove the screw from the base, snap the base on and rotate and put the screw back in. Plug in the power and hook it up and away you go. The initial screen has you select your input (over the air) or cable, etc. You just pick and it learns the channels and you are ready to go. I haven't used the DVD yet.
Very poor image for DVD
We were not very impressed with the picture of the TV image and the slow response of the remote. We became very disappointed when we finally put in a DVD. The screen image is shadowed by red and blue lines across the screen. The image is horrible. Being busy through the holiday and then having to leave town on a business trip I now have to investigate options for returning the unit.
