A good but not great set
My own opinion of the 560 is that it's an excellent looking TV but one that grinds right along the border of "minimal" and "cheap". The set has been scaled back significantly compared to past models in response to the advance of LED, which seems poised to become the default backlight technology of LG's TV lineup. If you have simple tastes and just want a good looking set for gaming and occasional movie watching, the 560 is a great value and will perform well enough.
There isn't much special beyond a good picture with a 1080p resolution.
The LG 42CS560 is a great model for what you pay for. It is cheap, and also has a good picture with a 1080p resolution. There isn't much special beyond that. The screen size at 42 inches makes this a very versatile TV, which can be used in many places as a main family TV, or as a secondary bedroom TV. Many people who bought it felt that it also made a great gift for someone looking to upgrade from an old CRT TV.
Fantastic TV ... with only one possible issue
The picture is beautiful after calibration, and with energy saver mode turned off, obviously. I found that the TruMotion feature works under certain conditions, mostly for TV broadcasts. For DVD and Bluray, I had to turn it off - because, even though it did seem to make the image appear sharper (especially for DVD material), I just couldn't get used to the SOE. Suddenly, the Mentalist characters looked like they wandered onto the set of Days of Our Lives. Just too distracting.
The bundled Magic Remote is refreshing and intuitive
We enjoyed our time spent with the LG 42LS5700 (MSRP $1,099). This mid-range LG turned out to be a very good smart TV, complete with a great contrast, respectable color consistency, and a low power consumption. Surely this TV is worth your hard-earned $1,099, right?
Don't let the MSRP fool you: the LG 42LS5700 can be found for as little as $700 online. We think a TV that produces a good picture and has LG's robust smart platform is worth the MSRP. For $700, though, this is a deal.
Excellent High Value LG Smart HDTV!!
This LG looks, sounds and works the way you WANT it to!
At the current price, the LG 47LM6200 represents one of the very top values in HDTV today. Read my caveats at the very end of this review, but otherwise you just can't beat this TV for the price. IT currently resides in the master bedroom , connected to a Fios HD DVR and Oppo Blu Ray player but could easily be the center of ANY living room entertainment center or home theater set-up.
The best 3D experience in the business
With so many features done well on this TV, it is hard to not recommend the 32LM6200 (MSRP $650). There is a robust Smart TV platform, industry-leading 3D, and yes, a good quality picture. LG has done a fantastic job at creating a mid-range TV that is feature-heavy and a solid performer.
The design of this TV will catch the eye of many consumers: it is bold and futuristic, and those adjectives apply to the motion controlled remote, too.
