Terrific TV for the price and size
Have spent hours and hours comparing HD LED TVs on internet and in retail stores. Received yesterday (01/03/13) and am very pleased. Set up is "EZ" and with a wee bit of help from my cablevision provider, can now use "ONE" remote. VIZIO is tops in my opinion for size, price and operational ease.
Great TV! Stand and positioning is a little strange
THe only strange (not negative, just different) thing about this TV is the stand. This TV does not have a standard upright stand. The stand consists of a V shaped bar that attaches at the bottom back of the TV and the TV actually leans back about 5 degrees to stand up. For my application this is good and bad. The tilt actually helps alleviate some glare from straight on light sources.
Great TV with DVD Player
I am very pleased with our purchase. The TV was easy to set up and looks really nice on the TV stand I got for it. Picture quality is better than I expected. Sound quality is definitely adequate - it isn't bose quality speakers, but I have no trouble hearing the TV loudly from across the room. I would recommend to someone looking for an affordable TV with great features and a nice design.
Great Picture and Good Sound
I needed a small Tv, and was pleasantly surprised by this 23" Toshiba. Great picture and good sound accompanied by lots of input / output options - including 3 HDMI ports, Digital Audio Out, Digital Audio In, PC Audio In, Component video and PC in. Setup and programming was easy, though I did have to consult the online users-guide to answer a few questions.
Amazingly deep blacks, but beleaguered by crummy color
It's frustrating that such spectacular contrast on an affordable TV should go to waste like this. The L1350U (MSRP $499.99) renders some truly beautiful blacks, but its colors just can't keep up. How sad! Like a magnificent race horse with a fear of circles... But in practical terms, regular content appeared washed out and unrealistic, and even Blu-ray discs lacked vibrancy of color. What a waste!
Don't be wooed by this TV's pretty price tag.
Not bad, not great
All things considered, it's a good value. It seems well made. If you're looking for a knockout picture or wanting to use it in a very bright room, maybe there are better choices out there. If I weren't very tightly constrained by the space I have to fit a TV into, I probably would have returned it for a 40", of which there seem to be a lot more to choose from.
Cheap, Full HD, good resolution
For so much good spec, the Vizio E390-A1 is a great buy. If you are thinking to replace your old tv and looking for a good quality and affordable tv, then you should go for this.
This is great tv all around
I bought this tv to use with a Playstation 3 mostly but also as a regular tv and secondary monitor for my Macbook Pro. The 240Hz really made difference in gaming, movement is much realistic than a 60Hz tv. This tv also works great as a computer monitor. Being a web developer and designer, I am very picky about my display and this works great for graphics and coding. This is my fourth Toshiba tv in about 20 years, they all still work great and I have never had a problem with them.
For the price, great picture quality
The Toshiba L2300U series may be entry-level, but its picture quality is not. It seems like Toshiba has taken pains to avoid trapping consumers in a feature fight: "This one is 3D but not smart, this one is both, this one feeds your dog, this one is 3D but doesn't come in 1080p," etc. The L2300U doesn't do anything extra except play back USB content. Its on-board software is basic, and cheap. The design? Also cheap.
32 Emerald series
Been using for one month on average eight hours a day. I like this TV. I use it as a PC monitor sitting 5 to 10 feet away at various times and the picture is very comfortable to look at. Yes there is 444 chroma subsampling if you use the 1366 or 1360 native resolution's. I got it hooked up to HDMI to my PC with a Radeon 7700 video card. Games like Guild wars two look great especially with the program called sweet FX which makes the colors look even better.
Samsung Quality at a Decent Price
The back-light scanning (labeled LED Clear Motion) blacks the picture while the LCD pixel is changing state. Further no soap opera effect. Since the LEDs are very bright, they still generate enough light with the Clear Motion feature enabled.
Once calibrated the display offers a compelling picture quality. I like it!
Many of the menu settings are shared between Standard and Movie mode.
