The Retina-Like GPS, Superb, Lightweight, Just Great!!!
All in all, this is really a great step up. I highly recommend it. I wasn't sure it would have been a major upgrade from the 3590, but I am pleasantly surprised that it is and more. Your smartphone map app or GPS app can't compete with this beauty.
You will enjoy using this new flagship unit from Garmin.
Traffic announcements, Active lane guidance
The new magnetic mount and various new features (up ahead, traffic announcements, active lane guidance) are great additions to the Prestige line. Unfortunately the poorer than expected Bluetooth and voice command don't measure up. Hopefully those issues can be resolved with a firmware update.
Good-looking capacitive display
Overall the GPS did a good job at doing what it is designed to do. It has an easy-to-navigate interface that's made even easier to use by voice commands. Finding destinations using the search feature was easy and accurate. The Nuvi always chose the quickest, most logical routes and displayed accurate traffic data. Despite all that, we do cringe at the $350 retail price tag.
Works wonders for me
I'm happy enough with it that I'm tempted to buy a second one and keep it as a reserve--if I ever lose or break the first one, then I won't miss a day or two's worth of exercise data. I've lost a couple fitbits over the past two years, and it's been really demoralizing, even if I find them eventually.
Extremely versatile and possessing the flexibility of Android
Motorola's incredibly capable MotoActv fitness device can tackle just about any fitness task--such as tracking workouts via GPS and connecting to headsets via Bluetooth--and it serves as a very tiny digital music player. Yet, if you're looking for a simple tool to measure daily activity and provide holistic advice on how to shed some pounds, this training tool isn't for you.
Advanced GPS fitness watch
Compared to other fitness watches I have had the discomfort of using, the Motorola Actv is a thing of beauty. If you mind is willing and your flesh needs a tweak, then provided you have a Motorola phone, it has all you need to shed a few pounds and you'll certainly shed a few when buying it. For the price, you could purchase a second-hand Ford and follow the founder's advice, but you'll be more likely to gain a spare tyre than lose one.
Steps recorded on watch face
Entering a market on the verge of a boom the Motorola MOTOACTV is an all-round strong device that ticks all the boxes. A good battery life means you will charge the device at most twice a week based on frequent use while the ease at which activity information is displayed takes one arduous task out of motivation-waning exercise regimes.
Provides a ton of statistical fitness data
Of course, we adore that it provides a ton of statistical information that will blow the minds of the average consumer, and at the same time, it's the dream companion device for any fitness buff. Even though we didn't find ourselves shedding some weight over the course of using the device, it's still a neat gadget that's there to motivate and guide us to the correct path of physical fitness.
Sweat proof, rain resistant, and scratch resistant
Before testing the MOTOACTV, the Garmin Forerunner 610 is my favorite heart rate monitor and GPS running watch. After testing the MOTOACTV, for GPS, HRM, and Music, the MOTOACTV is my go-to unit IF it can pick up a signal from the satellites. The music and radio are great features that I would love to have on the Garmin. I'm also getting spoiled by the larger display on the MOTOACTV. My Garmin has been super-reliable in picking up the satellites for all my runs.
Small, light and very portable
The Motoactv is one of the most advanced GPS golf units on the market today. While it's price might put some off, if you want a slick and fully-featured golf tracking gadget with a ton of additional extras thrown in, look no further than the Motoactv.
Multi-touch screen lets you pinch/zoom/double-tap
If you already own one of Garmin's higher-end nuvi models purchased within the last 2 years, the 3590 LMT probably isn't compelling enough to warrant upgrading. If you don't already have a GPS, or are looking to upgrade an older/lower-end model, the 3590 LMT is a solid navigator packed with virtually every feature available on a Garmin GPS: 5-inch screen, traffic, free map updates, multi-touch gesture support, voice command, Bluetooth and much more.
Lifetime European maps and RDS-TMC traffic
The Garmin nuvi 3590 LMT is a high-quality, feature-rich sat-nav. As we've commented before with regard to the Garmin smartphone app and the nuLink 2320, the Live services do get a bit pricey. If you purchased all of them, you would be paying £62.24 a year, which is significantly more than TomTom currently charges for its LIVE services.
Up ahead feature, Customization options
With the exception of the poor Bluetooth sound quality, the 2597LMT is a worthy successor to last year's 2595LMT. The most notable improvements are active lane guidance, the up ahead feature and traffic announcements. Is it worth it to get the 2597LMT over the 2557LMT, given the Bluetooth issue? For me the answer would be yes, since I am often out on the road alone and the voice command feature works very well. Except for that nagging Bluetooth issue, the 2597LMT is one of the best nuvis yet.
Excellent voice command functionality
This 7" model is a welcome addition to the nuvi line and I'm going to cautiously recommend it. If it wasn't for the Bluetooth issue I might deem it the best nuvi yet. Hopefully that will be fixed with a firmware update in the near future. In addition to the giant screen, the most notable improvements are active lane guidance, the up ahead feature and traffic announcements.
Easy-to-use touchscreen interface
Nuvi 2797LMT keeps your driving map onscreen at all times and additional information appears alongside. For details, simply ask or touch the screen. As you drive your route, Up Ahead constantly informs you of nearby services, including restaurants, fuel stations, hospitals and stores.
Nuvi 2797LMT displays speed limit, current speed and accurate time of arrival. With a quick glance, you can read the name of your current street. nuvi 2797LMT also shows school zone warnings.
Finally a step in the right direction for Car Audio
I have been tracking Asteroid smart for about a year and finally pulled the trigger and am glad i did. The screen on this unit is simply gorgeous! It is fluid and acts just like a typical phone nowadays. The speed of the interface is also super fast. Nothing has to load or tap and wait. It just works. The connectivity is awesome as well. Everything works with USB today and so why not have it in the unit.
Bluetooth hands-free calling rounds out a strong feature set
The Magellan SmartGPS bridges a gap between connected navigation apps and car-friendly GPS hardware with its ability to sync with the cloud and connect to the Web via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but its busy interface could use fewer moving parts.
Very rugged, and well made
I never had a GPS with window mount before, I always used the sandbag style one, and I recommend it for this GPS as well, since the mount comes off in a hot car. But even though it fell the windshield of and hit the Console of the car, it shows no visible damage, and it has happened 3 times in 1 month so far. Cudos to Garmin for making the finish as durable as it is, but offering the sandbag mount as an alternative would have been nice.
Garmin needs to speed up on programming
It's my second Garmin. The unit is great. But it took long journey to set it up. Registration and downloading software was easy though after updating the map, always receiving the error message:"Cannot unlock the map." Checked the forum and found lots people had the same issue which might be caused by using multiple units.
Strong customization options
Overall the nuvi 3490LMT is a nice model. Hopefully the HD traffic reception issues will be resolved over time. For myself and for now, I'd go with one of the 2x95LMT models over the 3490LMT. But folks who have to deal with traffic on a daily basis may want to keep an eye on the forums and see how quickly the traffic reception issues are resolved.
Capacitive touch tech
Beyond the core nav features, there are plenty of frills, too. There's fully hands-free voice control, for instance, which is the best such system we've tried, as well as lane guidance, a unit converter and much, much more. But it's the responsive screen and slick interface that really makes the Garmin nuvi 3490LMT a winner.
