BEST AKG Headphones Ever!
The AKG K 511's have excellent sound, very good bass and crisp highs. The cord is nice and long in case you forget something across the room and need to walk over to get it, you can keep the headphones on (that being said if you're in one place, its a lot of cord). 3 years after owning these they're still going strong. They've taken a beating living in my backpack during commutes to school and after being used very often and sometimes very loud, the quality is still there.
Only three pairs of bundled tips
The Klipsch S3 do represent an improvement over bundled buds, but at the RRP you can get better sound for your money. Bass is robust without becoming overblown but the high end lacks detail and smoothness. We had hoped for better when Klipsch's higher-end earphones perform so well on this front.
I definitely got what I was looking for. These buds sound amazing! The bass hits hard without sacrificing the highs and mids. The white with chrome looks great and I have no troble with them staying in my ears. The sound isolation is excellent, background noise disappears. I was so impressed with how they sounded I almost forgot that I got them to use the mic. After a couple of test calls, I was equally impressed with the quality of the mic, it's clear and works flawlessly with my phone.
A quick refresher
Despite finding its bass to be often overwhelming, we think the Skullcandy 50/50 is a nice headset for certain audiences. We know there are plenty of listeners out there - particularly those who listen to electronic music and hip-hop, and those who play games on their portable devices - who will love the bass, and we have no trouble recommending this model to them, especially given its price.
Great Sound and Comfort for the money!!
The bass is not overwhelming but it is sweet and clear. The mid-range and higher ranges are also nicely represented so the sound is very natural.
Unlike a lot of headphones that have sliding adjustment in the headband, the headband on these are permanently fixed at one size, but there is an inner band that adjusts to fit them nicely to your head. The pressure is just right to keep them securely in place while feeling comfortable on the top of the head.
