A solid offering
If we had to describe the Klipsch HD Theater 600 is a few words, we'd call it a solid offering. While the 33Hz low end rating seems a bit optimistic to us, the price tag certainly is right. At $600 for a full 5.1 system, the Klipsch HD Theater 600 is sure to introduce a lot of people to the Klipsch brand and, more importantly, the Klipsch sound. And once they get a taste for it, they'll be more likely to stick with it.
The DHT-1513A surround sound system is better than the other options offered by the local big box stores, and cost less. I bought a new 60" Samsung led lcd tv and the sound was awful. Rear speakers on the tv were inadequate. Anyway, this Denon amp is an intro version for Denon, but pretty good. The Boston speakers are also intro level, but also good. I'm very happy with the cost/value and the overall sound. I found the best price at Amazon, and trust them.
There are so many choices when it comes to surround sound systems. I went with Yamaha because they have a great record of producing really quality speakers and amps. That is exactly what I got with this product. The amp is great, much better than cheaper systems, the speakers sound very nice, they produce excellent mid and high range sound. The subwoofer is perfectly adequate and rounds out the system very well. There are plenty of HDMI connections to plug in your peripherals.
I bought this for my mother & father for Christmas. Both are in their mid-80s and live in a town-home community with mostly other adult residents. They live in another state so I was concerned about having to maintain the system from my remote location but, so far, this has not proved to be a problem. The system was very easy to set up. It took about 2-3 hours to get it up and running.
Sony 3D system works great
There are a lot of bells and whistles on this 3D system. I attached my system to a Toshiba 46WX800 since I knew the internal speakers on an LED system would not give me the theater feel that I wanted. I have had the system for 2 weeks and love it. The system talks to my TV and knows when to turn on the TV when I place in a DVD and keeps the speaker and TV settings for "movie" that you manually set. I used the built-in Netflix everyday and did not see a lag in it.
Long bootup time, over 20 seconds from button press to first sound
The BDV-T57 is an entry-level, 5.1-channel, 3D Blu-ray home theater system from Sony. The BDV-T57 combines five 167W satellites speakers with a 165W subwoofer, for 1000W of total output power, enough to fill large rooms with powerful sound.
The Sony HT-SS360 is an entry-level Blu-ray-ready HTIB, complete with a decor-friendly (read: small) 5.1 speaker system and an AV receiver with three HDMI inputs.
The bottom line: The Sony HT-SS360 is an inexpensive home theater system with generous HDMI connectivity and satisfying sound on movies, but don't expect it to deliver with music.
