Great surround sound but, lacking one important feature
I had this home theater in a box for about a month so far and everything is great, 3D, built in wireless Blu ray player but lacking one important detail. The receiver have 0 Hdmi inputs so if your planning to connect more devices to use the surround sound then you will end up using Toslink cables. I am happy with my purchase and if this receiver had 2 or more Hdmi inputs then 5 stars across the board.
Good Internet app integration
The Samsung HT-D5500 is a 5.1 channel surround sound audio system that builds from the HT-D5300 by incorporating larger satellite speakers for higher quality audio output. Like its predecessor, the device consists of four satellite speakers, a central channel, and a subwoofer.
Dynamic, detailed sound quality
If you're looking for a stylish, feature-packed one-box system that won't make unreasonable demands on your living space then the HT-D5500 is just the ticket. It handles 3D discs, converts 2D to 3D and acts as a superb network media streamer. There's no built-in Wi-Fi and it's not the most eloquent-sounding home cinema system you'll ever hear, but it's pretty impressive by one-box standards, making this a very appealing proposition.
Great sound, once you get it set up
Okay first off, it took us FOREVER to figure out how to get it properly set up to get sound from the tv. We had to go back to Walmart and get another cable for that. And then it took another 3 hours for us to figure out how to set it up to our PS3 in order to get full surround. Manual didn't help at all, and neither does their website. When we finally figured it out, the sound was amazing.
I've been trying to get my ipod mini to play now.
