Easy to install, easy to use, A winner
I highly recommend the Sony BDV-N7100W system. It's simple, but not simplistic. It works well, it has a nice array of useful features, the speakers are decent, and it's easy to set up and use. And most of all, the fact that the Blu-ray player allows you to skip to the main menu (or at least chapter skip) really lessens the usual aggravation that accompanies Blu-ray discs. This is an excellent product all around.
Stunning clarity, Precise timing and subtle detail
A fantastic all-in-one system that delivers excellent picture, sound and a variety of streaming features.
Seriously cute looking system
Sony has pulled off a minor miracle with the N7100W, combining a peerless feature count with unprecedented performance for a system of its size at a price that seems very reasonable indeed for what's on offer.
Sleek looking easy set up
This surround sound system is one of the highest rated systems on Cnet.com and many others. Its' sleek design, built in wifi, wireless rear speakers and the 2 HDMI inputs on the back, make for an impressive home theater system in a box. 1000 watts is plenty of power for my 20x20 family room. The center channel is strong enough to really bring the verbal audio through clearly without the other speakers overpowering it. The sub woofer is strong, but not overpowering either.
Good Internet app suite
The Sony BDV-E780W is one of three 3D-compliant home theater systems (BDV-E780W, BDV-E580, and BDV-E280) released together in early 2011. The top unit in the series, this 5.1-channel system features two rear wireless speakers, two 2-way front speakers, a central channel, and a subwoofer.
Good home theater
Recent purchase. Have had a sony home theater before and this system pretty much meets the expectations. Areas of concern are noted below:
- Length of speaker cables are less than required (especially for the center and sub woofer). I needed a longer cable since i use a projector and not a TV screen
- Yet to find a file format that can be played using the USB connect (does not seem to read any itunes/ mp3 formats)
- An additional wifi access point is required to connect to internet.
Bass is very clear, distortion is difficult to detect even at higher volumes
The HT-S7300 is the top-of-the-line model in Onkyo's 2010 lineup of 7.1-channel home theater systems supporting 3D video. Like less expensive options, it offers seven 130W speakers and a 10-inch, 290W subwoofer, for 1200W total power, as well as an iPod dock.
