Alot of punch in a small package
After the easy installation and setup using a microphone for speaker calibration, I was simply amazed. You hear absolutely no distortion from any of the speakers, not even at maximum volume. I have this setup in a fairly large living room and the subwoofer provides hard-hitting clean bass. The only con I have is that the shiny black finish to the system attracts dust quickly. Don't pass up this system. Menu interface is awesome.
When I first saw the speakers, I said, I will ne returning these in the morning. They look small but they sound super clear. The bass is not the best but for the price range it beats all HTIB out there. It does not have any Hdmi in ports, and the speakers need screws or nails to mount on wall. I dont think they are brackets out there for this type. The internet is not wireless you need an adapter from samsung. If you have a small to medium room this will work great.
System is easily set up and has good connectivity options, hooked up to satellite reciever and xbox as well as TV. Connected to wireless network easily. Sound quality is better than average, but not spectacular. The wireless rear speakers make installation a breeze, but are somewhat weak in sound delivery. Disappointed that there is not a multiple disk changer, and the single drive is slow loading.
Great System for the Price
I have been very happy with this purchase. It has more than enough power. I have not had it above 35. The sound is very good, I'm no audiophile, but going from a Bose system to this I have no complaints. Within the first week the sound would not come on and I had to unplug the unit. This happened again so I connected it to the internet and upgraded the firmware. It has worked flawlessly since. I purchased a new TV at the same time and have had no problems with audio sync.
5.1-channel surround-sound and connectivity options are as close to perfect
With one exception, the Philips Blu-ray Home Theater System HTS3106/F7 is a flawless home theater setup. Picture, sound and connectivity all have the right parts and perform their assigned tasks perfectly. We would like to see more than one HDMI port in a more accessible part of the machine. Other than that, this home theater in a box system is the standard-bearer for all other systems in this category.
I started reviewing home theater in a box set, since I did not want to go through the pain of finding receivers, and separate speakers. After trying one from a different company which did not work for video as well, and had multiple issues, I had to return and get the yamaha. The sound quality is breathtaking. The device also looks great, all black with Yamaha logos.
All I can say is wow! This HTIB is amazing. Straight out of the box, without any configuration, I was amazed at the depth and clarity of the sound this thing puts out. At first I though the auto configuraion tool was broken, then I read the instructions and it did a mighty fine job. It turned the sub down more than I would like, but other than that it did a great job.
While actual details and pictures of the components of the Onkyo HT-S9400THX Networked HTiB are sketchy, the message is clear - this is a product that defies its price point. At $1099 MSRP (sure to find this on sale somewhere), you're getting a full featured receiver and THX certified speakers. While it is only really rated (and therefore designed for) a small home theater or dorm room, we're sure to see them in rooms much larger.
Excellent sound and video
The Onkyo HT-S9400THX is one of the priciest HTIB systems available, but reviewers say you get a lot of value for your money. Critics and consumers alike say the audio quality is second to none with this 7.1-channel system. This is one of the few home theater systems to carry THX I/S audio certification, which means the sound you enjoy in your living room will be the same as you would enjoy in a movie theater, as long as your room is not too large.
Decent bookshelf speakers
Taking all into consideration, the Onkyo HT-S9400THX system provides decent bookshelf speakers, practical features, and connectivity that make it definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a good home theater system package to complement an HDTV and Blu-ray Disc or DVD player.
I bought this from abcWarehouse, sorry amazon! I will have to say the receiver is awesome! I like that you can individually dial in all the speakers. I highly recommend dialing in the receiver yourself instead of the mic. It puts out great highs and deep rich bass even at very low volume. The features are great I use pandora free version all the time!
Subwoofer provides excellent low-end support
The Onkyo HT-S8400 is a 7.1 home theater system. It is compatible with 3D video via its four HDMI inputs. The system provides 1030W over the 7 satellite speakers as well as the 120W subwoofer. The HT-S8400 is capable of processing a wide range of audio codecs including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby DD Plus, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
Great Product and Great Value
I looked at many other home theater systems but chose the Onkyo S5400 because it had more options to attach external video sources. The home theater systems that included a DVD player seemed to be too much of a compromise. I paired this with an LG Blu-ray player and I get the benefit of a home theater system with my chosen DVD player and the option to attach many other sources. In all this is a great system, especially for the price.
Excellent sound quality
The HT-S5400 is a 7.1-channel home theater system from Onkyo that offers a step-up from the company's HT-S3400 model. Utilizing a sleek brushed aluminum finish, this model features a total power handling of 680 watts split across seven channels and a single 10-inch powered subwoofer.
Technology in the HT-S5400 is very impressive
If you're looking for a full featured HTiB solution with the ability to upgrade as you go, Onkyo's HT-S5400 is a great way to go. $600 certainly won't break the bank, even in this economy, and the included speakers should allow you to get used to surround sound while you shop around for something else.
