Style and slickness behind everything it does
Taking the BDV-E370's features, performance and ease of use into consideration, you can't fail to be impressed. There's a style and slickness behind everything it does, and most pleasingly it delivers better sound quality than most of its similarly priced rivals.
Experts say that the Sony BDV-E370 offers a compelling blend of features, performance and value. It's built around a Blu-ray player that's packed with most, if not all, of the in-demand extras. That includes Internet streaming with a wide variety of content partners. It is also 3D capable, though you'll need a 3D TV to take advantage of that. It can't play as loudly as more expensive systems, but still can crank out enough volume to fill a reasonably sized room.
Ease of use
The BDV-E370 deserves praise for its wealth of features, 3D support and excellent picture performance, all of which can be yours for a surprisingly reasonable price. On the downside, the subwoofer doesn't live up to the quality of the other speakers and adding Wi-Fi is a pricey business, but there are enough positives elsewhere to stop these things being deal-breakers.
Easy to use
It may not be the prettiest system around, but in most other respects this is a great home cinema kit from Sony. It's easy to use, produces great sounding audio and delivers crisp HD pictures for the price. It would have notched up a slightly higher rating if all the touted features were actually present. That said, the eventual release of the 3D update and the forthcoming support for DNLA networking can only add to the system's long term appeal.
This replaced a Samsung BD1250 as I was unhappy with the sound quality - especially from the center channel. I love this new system. Sounds great and setup was really easy with the autocallibration microphone. It has a PS3 style menu which is a snap to navigate. The video quality is outstanding whether its playing a Blu ray disk/DVD/or streaming video. I was a little nervous about the wireless rear surround, but it works great. I don't get any interference with my wireless router.
