Strong, Space Saving Sound
This Onkyo LS3100 Envision Cinema 2.1 Channel Bluetooth Speaker System in black finish is a terrific 2.1 sound system. Of course, you are not getting full surround sound, but your front speakers and subwoofer are always the most important part of a viewing/listening experience. Indeed, in many tight rooms or homes, a 2.1 is the simplest way to go.
The small receiver device has an optical audio input.
Great Quality for Great Price
I did a good amount of research prior to purchasing this home theater system and after about 3 months with it, I have no complaints. It's by no means the best sound system out there but if you're looking for an upgrade from your TV's built in speakers, are on a budget, and want to take your movie, game, and tv-watching experience to the next level, I don't think you can go wrong with this system.
All I can say is wow! This HTIB is amazing. Straight out of the box, without any configuration, I was amazed at the depth and clarity of the sound this thing puts out. At first I though the auto configuraion tool was broken, then I read the instructions and it did a mighty fine job. It turned the sub down more than I would like, but other than that it did a great job.
While actual details and pictures of the components of the Onkyo HT-S9400THX Networked HTiB are sketchy, the message is clear - this is a product that defies its price point. At $1099 MSRP (sure to find this on sale somewhere), you're getting a full featured receiver and THX certified speakers. While it is only really rated (and therefore designed for) a small home theater or dorm room, we're sure to see them in rooms much larger.
Excellent sound and video
The Onkyo HT-S9400THX is one of the priciest HTIB systems available, but reviewers say you get a lot of value for your money. Critics and consumers alike say the audio quality is second to none with this 7.1-channel system. This is one of the few home theater systems to carry THX I/S audio certification, which means the sound you enjoy in your living room will be the same as you would enjoy in a movie theater, as long as your room is not too large.
Decent bookshelf speakers
Taking all into consideration, the Onkyo HT-S9400THX system provides decent bookshelf speakers, practical features, and connectivity that make it definitely worth checking out if you are looking for a good home theater system package to complement an HDTV and Blu-ray Disc or DVD player.
I bought this from abcWarehouse, sorry amazon! I will have to say the receiver is awesome! I like that you can individually dial in all the speakers. I highly recommend dialing in the receiver yourself instead of the mic. It puts out great highs and deep rich bass even at very low volume. The features are great I use pandora free version all the time!
Subwoofer provides excellent low-end support
The Onkyo HT-S8400 is a 7.1 home theater system. It is compatible with 3D video via its four HDMI inputs. The system provides 1030W over the 7 satellite speakers as well as the 120W subwoofer. The HT-S8400 is capable of processing a wide range of audio codecs including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby DD Plus, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
The price was right on this one. The receiver alone is around $400 so at $488 its a great deal. I have a big room so the included speaker wire was a little short. It sounds great! Not too hard to hook up with the included instructions. The subwoofer is pretty impressive for a 10" but the front center and surround speakers leave a bit to be desired in sound and fit and finish. I hope to upgrade speakers in the future as this receiver is a good base for a home theatre.
Great Product and Great Value
I looked at many other home theater systems but chose the Onkyo S5400 because it had more options to attach external video sources. The home theater systems that included a DVD player seemed to be too much of a compromise. I paired this with an LG Blu-ray player and I get the benefit of a home theater system with my chosen DVD player and the option to attach many other sources. In all this is a great system, especially for the price.
Excellent sound quality
The HT-S5400 is a 7.1-channel home theater system from Onkyo that offers a step-up from the company's HT-S3400 model. Utilizing a sleek brushed aluminum finish, this model features a total power handling of 680 watts split across seven channels and a single 10-inch powered subwoofer.
Technology in the HT-S5400 is very impressive
If you're looking for a full featured HTiB solution with the ability to upgrade as you go, Onkyo's HT-S5400 is a great way to go. $600 certainly won't break the bank, even in this economy, and the included speakers should allow you to get used to surround sound while you shop around for something else.
Decent theater package if the price is right
Ok, if you are looking for a budget speaker system, this is the way to go. I don't have the HDMI problem as the other review mentioned. First impression on the speakers well made but lighter than expected. The receiver is solid and served it's purpose. Again, if you are shopping theater system for a while, you know it's not going to be easy on your wallet. Taking in the price consideration, I would rate the receiver a four and half star.
Remote control is well laid out
The Onkyo HT-S7400 is a 5.1 home theater system. The system consist five satellite speakers, a 120W subwoofer, and a receiver. The receiver can be connected to your home network and also to a variety of sources including 3D Blu-Ray players and Apple iPod/iPhone via a dock which is included with the system.
Great sound for the price
Everything seems great so far. I have some pretty decent monitor speakers hooked up instead of the fronts, so I cant comment on the entire system. That said, the receiver has every option I could ever need. You can't find a receiver for 300$ that is better, or has more options than this one, so with the speakers and sub included it seems like a great deal. Took 10-15 minutes to set up. Easy on screen menu and set-up options.
Good All Around Quality and Value
Given the size and configuration of my listening area, I have to say that the sound quality of this set-up is excelent. Personally, I feel that 5.1 is more than sufficient for an excelent listening eperience, this set is 7.1 and since I could not find a convienent way to mount the 'High Rear' speakers, they could have ended up as somewhat of a waste. There is good news however, at least for me; since it is possible to use the extra speakers to set up "Zone 2", which I did in my screen room.
Button labeling on the remote gets confusing when HDMI wiring doesn't match up
The Onkyo HT-S9300THX is a home-theater-in-a-box (HTIB) released as an upgrade from the HT-S9100THX. It incorporates an improved overlaid graphical user interface, 3D compatibility, and HDMI pass-through functionality while the receiver is in standby mode for automatic source-to-TV switching in standby.
