Great Sound Bar for a Great Price
I was in the market for a better sound system since my TV speakers weren't loud enough for me. I decided on a Sound Bar because I wasn't looking to spend a huge amount for a home theater system. Also, sq footage-wise, my living room is not that big. I ended up with this Sony HTCT260, since my TV is a Sony as well and I wanted to pair up the remotes. I chose this particular model because of the wireless Sub.
Overall The sound is great. Very clear and crisp dialogue.
Ease of set up
The Sony HTCT260 offers some good features like the Blu-tooth option that works really well when streaming audio from a iphone or any other Blu-tooth device, which makes this an ideal docking sound system but without the dock. Set up is very straight forward and you can be up and running in minutes, the functionality of the wireless sub is ideal for those that are short on space and donâ?? t the untidiness of wires running everywhere as this can be placed anywhere in your room.
Terrific theater sound experience
I purchased this Sony BDV-T79 as an open box sale on eBay 2 weeks ago after a couple months of extensive research with both Samsung and Panasonic's competing systems priced in the mid to higher ranges of $300-500 as you usually get what you pay for. This is my first BLURAY player as it replaced an older Panasonic DVD player I'd purchased 3 years ago. The Sony BDV-T79 was on display at my local Costco but had very few reviews as this model was just released in the US a few months ago.
Good Basic Home Theater System
This product is performing as advertised. I did not want to spend $1000 on a theater system for a $500 TV (which I recieved for fathers day - Panasonic 50" Plasma) The connections were very straight forward.. The "On Screen" set up went pretty well. Running Cable Television shows thru the Sony Audio made the sound better than the TVs speakers.. and When playing a DVD we were amazed at the quality of the sound coming out of those little speakers.
A reasonably priced Surround System
I didn't want to spend more for the audio, than for the TV.
I chose this system as a compromise, and for its value.
It works well, sounds 100% better than my Bravia LED TV speakers,
and fits my basic requirements. It is not without flaws,
such as inability to pass through CC, but that's one of
the compromises. It syncs perfectly with my TV, and so no
problems with remotes, etc. So read all the reviews, to know
what you're getting, and perhaps the BDV-T58 will work for you.
Good home theater
Recent purchase. Have had a sony home theater before and this system pretty much meets the expectations. Areas of concern are noted below:
- Length of speaker cables are less than required (especially for the center and sub woofer). I needed a longer cable since i use a projector and not a TV screen
- Yet to find a file format that can be played using the USB connect (does not seem to read any itunes/ mp3 formats)
- An additional wifi access point is required to connect to internet.
Subwoofer isn't powered, lacks power and punch
The Sony BDV-E280 is one of three 3D-compliant home theater systems (BDV-E780W, BDV-E580, and BDV-E280) released together in early 2011. All three models feature an integrated Blu-ray disc player that can handle 3D and 2D BDs, as well as DVDs, SACDs, and CDs.
Contains every feature we look for in this category
The Sony 3D Blu-ray Home Theater System BDV-E280 stands head and shoulders above many other products in our home theater in a box category. This is no small accomplishment for this system given how many great products it is up against.
I read a few of the reviews before I purchased this and laughed because the things people wrote about were ridiculous. I can tell you that they either don't know how to set up this system (or any for that matter) or just didn't set it up correctly.
I got it yesterday, hooked everything up, connected my PS3 and put in Independence Day. WOW! If I said it was theater-like quality sound would you believe me? Probably not but it's true.
Very affordable value for first-time home theatre buyers
The Sony HT-SS380 is a standard 5.1-channel home theater audio system with four satellite speakers, a central channel, a subwoofer, and a receiver. Together they output 1000W. It offers 1080p video playback of Blu-ray sources via an HDMI repeater (3 in, 1 out) that supports stand-by-pass through, 3D pass through, and the audio return channel (ARC).
