Exceeded my expectations
I have had a 60" Sharp for 12 months which I love but the sound output of a flat screen is limited. I trialed the Bose equipment which was incredible but it came with a $1500 price tag which I could not really justify. So, I read and watched the online reviews and the Vizio seemed to be reasonable quality for the price.
This weekend I set it up which was as simple as they say.
Exponentially better than built-in TV speakers
We never had any doubts that Vizio's latest audio solutions would be appealing from a value standpoint. What was at question was whether or not these sound bars would sound good enough to keep folks from feeling urged to spend a little more in hopes for better sound quality. Having spent some quality time with the system, we have to say yes, it can
The average listener will be very satisfied with a SB4021M purchase.
Great sound, weak remote control
Hooked into my Samsung with optical cable. WONDERFUL sound. The SRS is just as I remember it from my old Sony XBR. Would have given 5 stars, except for the weak remote control. Very low power. Have already purchased a programable remote to replace it. Would be nice, too, if "line-of-sight" was not required for the sub-woofer. BUT at $200, cannot really complain.
Awesome value and performance for the money!
The Vizio VHT215 is amazing and an excellent value for the sound and performance that it delivers. I am a huge fan of all Vizio products and own the Vizio 3d SVT554 and a Vizio tablet. Quality, performance and service have all been exceptional. The sound bar was an unexpected upgrade from the Sony surround sound system I had. I recently had some renovation work done and removed the wall speakers to streamline the living room. The Vizio sound bar is simply incredible.
Solid, adjustable audio
If you're in the market for a budget sound bar and don't need chest-thumping bass or HDMI ports, critics slightly prefer the Yamaha YAS-101 and its integrated subwoofer. It doesn't pack the same punch as the Vizio VHT215, but it nevertheless delivers a satisfying wallop -- and it doesn't run into the Vizio sound bar's subwoofer woes, either.
Wide array of inputs and a wireless subwoofer
The VIZIO VHT215 2.1 soundbar system performs admirably in clarifying dialogue, amplifying action movies, and simply elevating your TV's sound quality. With a wide array of inputs and a wireless subwoofer, the VHT allows you to easily and inexpensively install and expand your home theater sound system.
Only sports a single optical output
The Vizio VHT510 speaker system is a mid-cost offering. Vizio recommends using the VHT510 with HDTVs forty inches and larger. This 5.1 Surround Sound home theater consists of the compact sound bar (which integrates front and center channels), two rear satellite speakers and a wireless subwoofer.
The Vizio VHT510 sound bar speaker system tackles a major complaint leveled against sound bars head on: that the simulated surround sound offered by 2.1-channel sound bars simply can't offer the same all-encompassing audio experience as a true 5.1-channel home theater system. The VHT510 alleviates that problem by including two small rear speakers in the mix.
