Don't waste your money
The 5.1 speaker have built-in amplifier, so you can connect directly a TV and a DVD. But you pay what you get. The quality is below the minimum you can expect. It has 300W of noise, not really good sound. The set is all made of plastic. The box of each speaker is made of plastic. No remote. You can adjust the bass, trebble and volume level. The cable are long enough. Could be great if wasn't for the low quality sound. The sound of my JVC TV is better.
I bought one on sale from Dollar General for $35. I never heard a tower speaker before and bought it to plug in to the head phone out jack on my 24 inch led TV. The remote is one of those bubble button ones, so I don't have much confidence in it. The sound is great! I put my USB memory stick that I coppied all my CDs on to and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon came on. I don't remember hearing it so well before! The sound is great!
I agree with some one here, the directions are not that great. But we figured it out in less than 15 minutes. My step-dad has an expensive over the top sound bar and this Coby sounds just as good as his does. This sound bar is worth the money. The remote control can be a little touchy but my family has not found that to be a big deal either. Great product 7 great sound for the money compared to so of the higher priced sound bars I have seen in action.
Not what I thought it would be
Still do not have it working. Instructions are almost nothing and I have had two other people look at doing it for me. They think something may be wrong with the bar. Another friend has offered to try it at his house to see if he can get it to work. So far its been a wasted purchase.
Decent sound for budget-conscious consumers
I moved into a new townhouse with my wife and we've been hosting a good share of house parties, where music was a mainstay. We were using a small 2.1 speaker system with an AUX in for playing music, but it was a mediocre arrangement at best. I've seen these tower-style speakers before, but was skeptical of how they'd sound. I took a chance on the iCraig, and I'm glad I did.
Bought this today at a local competitor however due to only one other review I wanted to add my own for anyone considering a small soundbar. Hooked it up to a 32" LG 1080p LED/LCD tv. We live in a small apartment with about 6-8 feet between our sofa and the tv/entertainment system so we didn't need too much sound production to fill out the space. The soundbar and accompanying subwoofer really fill the area with rich sound.
Poor sound, no bass
Oh my this is bad. I was excited to get this based on the simplicity and the blue tooth. I have a 55" Samsung 6050. I was shocked to hear that this LED TV rocked in comparison to he LG sound bar. The bottom line is it not worth the money (any amount). it sounds like the am/fm from my 69 mustang, after it went bad. The set is is super easy to set up though. Make a connection and away you go. In minutes you can begin to experience the lovely sounds of tin cans.
Big movie theater sound
This system was a big surprise for the money. It has very good quality sound and I am pleased with it in every way so far. It was also easy to set up. I ended up placing speakers on the wall with exception of the sub-woofer. Connected it to a 51" Samsung plasma screen. Picture and sound are incredible. If you don't live in the country the sound may disturb your neighbors. Very happy I bought it.
