The DHT-1513A surround sound system is better than the other options offered by the local big box stores, and cost less. I bought a new 60" Samsung led lcd tv and the sound was awful. Rear speakers on the tv were inadequate. Anyway, this Denon amp is an intro version for Denon, but pretty good. The Boston speakers are also intro level, but also good. I'm very happy with the cost/value and the overall sound. I found the best price at Amazon, and trust them.
Amazing Home Theater
If you're looking for a great home theater system at an affordable price this is it. I have had no problems passing through all of my 3D content to my TV from this home theater system. There is a ton of control for the audio and even offers automatic and manual lip syncing. If you're an audio/video nut and you notice lips being off from audio by only the slightest bit then this is the home theater system for you. The active subwoofer is outstanding for its size.
Plenty of audio decoders
For those on a budget, the Yamaha YHT-395BL provides an appealing mix of value and performance. Though the HTIB kit does not include a Blu-ray player, there's lots of connectivity to add your own, including 4 HDMI inputs that support the latest features of that standard (3D video, HDMI pass-through and audio return channel support). Considering the price, audio performance can't be beat, reports say.
A Great Piece to Add to your Entertainment
I bought this as a birthday present for my husband. What caught my eye was the ability to stream Netflix, Pandora, etc. and hook up our ipods to it as well. We have Netflix though the Wii, but the picture quality is not great because the Wii doesn't have HD hook ups. Neither of us are very tech savvy, but were able to set it all up by ourselves in less than an hour, exploring the different features as we went.
Bass is loud, brings out big sound effects in movies
The Sony BDV-F7 is a special 3D Blu-ray-disc compatible, sound bar home theater system designed to deliver quality audio alongside blu-ray video content. Geared especially for users who prefer not to mess with complicated multi-channel surround-sound setups, the BDV-F7 features a 3D blu-ray player, a sound bar, and a 6-3/8" Bass Reflex subwoofer.
A reasonably priced Surround System
I didn't want to spend more for the audio, than for the TV.
I chose this system as a compromise, and for its value.
It works well, sounds 100% better than my Bravia LED TV speakers,
and fits my basic requirements. It is not without flaws,
such as inability to pass through CC, but that's one of
the compromises. It syncs perfectly with my TV, and so no
problems with remotes, etc. So read all the reviews, to know
what you're getting, and perhaps the BDV-T58 will work for you.
Superior sound quality
The Yamaha YSP-4100 offers better surround effects, superior sound quality and more features than competing sound bars, but it's expensive and most buyers won't need all its functionality. Critics agree that the Yamaha YSP-4100 Digital Sound Projector sounds better and does a better job of producing a convincing surround-sound field than just about any other sound bar available. The biggest downside is cost, because it is priced higher than many mid-range and cheaper HDTVs. It is also more expensive than a full-fledged surround-sound system assembled from a good-quality home-theater receiver and surround-sound speakers; see those ConsumerSearch reports for some suggestions.
Impressive, albeit expensive, all-in-one home theater system
The YSP-4100 is an impressive, albeit expensive, all-in-one home theater system. It is very easy to use, has very good sound and offers a range of features beyond what most consumers would ever use. It's no revelation that a true 5.1 system will deliver a better surround experience, but that comes at the expense of space and additional wiring. Though the soundbar/sub combo can project plenty of volume for larger rooms, I particularly like the idea of using the pair in a smaller setting.
Unit is gorgeous, sleek
This unit is gorgeous, sleek, and doesn't block the TV when sitting in front of it. While you could get better sound with a true 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system, for the money, you get a fairly believable surround sound experience with the Denon DHT-FS3. Wife acceptance factor is off the charts and it boasts sound to match when compared to other players in this new category of loudspeakers.
Superb virtual surround sound quality
If you don't want to mess with the hassle of half a dozen speakers, then the Denon DHT-FS3 HTIB is definitely for you. Of course, it is virtually impossible to create the stunning quality that five or eight different speakers provide, but this Denon definitely comes close with just one sound bar and a subwoofer. If you are limited on space and just want something simple and easy to setup, then you should consider this virtual surround sound system.
Solid build and attractive black finish
While it's not the cheapest single speaker surround sound system on the market, it's right up there with the best, not only in terms of performance but also of design. Compact, sturdily built and attractive to look at, it delivers surprisingly effective multi-channel sound without the fuss and mess of a full 5.1 speaker setup.
Ipod Dock is very convenient
The Onkyo HT-S5200 is a 7.1 130 Watt mid level home theater system announced in March 2009 retailing at $599. It targets the folks who are serious about high-definition entertainment in the home: 1080p video takes center stage from sources such as Blu-ray Disc, DVD, HD broadcasting, and gaming.
Blu-ray home-theater-in-a-box (HTIB) systems are still a rarity—there are currently only a few models available from Panasonic, Samsung and Sony. What’s more, they’re pricey. Sony’s BDV-IS1000 lists for $1,000, keeping it just outside the realm of most mainstream consumers. But the biggest hurdle, as we found out, is simply that they don’t always work.
