decent call clarity
The SPA962 combines expandable VoIP functionality with an impressive array of configuration options for administrators and end users. Add ease of use to the mix, and the SPA962 becomes a great option to move a whole office to VoIP with a central configuration hub.
no connection to your PC required for Internet calls.
The bottom line: GE's dual-mode Skype phone/cordless handset may not be the sexiest model out there, but its ability to toggle between Skype and landline calls--and even do three-way conferencing between lines--sets it apart from the current crop of dual-mode Skype phones.
Poor speakerphone quality
The Snom 320 is a 2-year old SIP business phone, and the middle tier in the company's 300 series. It has more features than the Snom 300 including additional line displays and a better semi-graphic LCD, but at a considerable price increase. The Snom 360 and 370 are even pricier still and have larger LCD screens, as well as another suite of features that are not included in the 320.
Unless the seller confirms firmware pre-installed is 8.5 or higher, the SIP features will not work seamlessly. Phone comes with standard SCCP (cisco proprietary) settings and TFTP upgrade to higher firmware is cumbersome and requires high technical knowledge. Avoid this phone if you plan a hosted or cloud based SIP trunking feature for your business. Beware of sellers who will pawn you old stock phones from their unsold inventory. Ensure phone manufacture dates are May 2012 or later. Good Luck.
The Linksys CIT400 allows you to make both land-line and Skype calls, all without a PC
Barring some minor disaster, the CIT400 looks to be a winner for those looking to reduce their phone bills and increase their communication. And best of all, you don't need to wait for your PC to turn on just to make a call.
Very affordable - A lot of bang for your buck
The Grandstream GXP 2020 Enterprise SIP phone is in the company's GXP series of phones, a line that focuses on devices that are "feature rich, auto-provisionable for mass deployment, easy to use and competitively priced". The company specializes in very affordable VoIP equipment and the GXP 2020 is no exception. At around $80, this phone is probably one of the most affordable 'executive class' phones on the market.
Excellent value, supported by VOIP providers
We purchased a half-dozen of these for my startup because they're supported by Vocalocity (our VOIP provider), had the features we want, and the price was right. It's a solid, few-frills, get-the-job-done VOIP phone. Excellent sound quality, and it's attractive on the desk, too.
My only complaint is that the phone uses icons (a picture of a hand for "hold", a piece of paper with a folded corner for "setup") instead of words.
Great features at affordable price
If you do a quick search on this phone, you'll find several glowing reviews of this phone and for good reason. We thoroughly enjoyed testing the SPA-942 in our office, and would recommend it wholeheartedly to any business looking for great cubicle/desk phones at an affordable price. Although the speakerphone did not deliver, the sound quality, the backlit display, and all the other great features won us over.
