A full featured IP deskphone in the $40-$50 range
The GXP 1405 is lightweight and compact. Depending on what you're used to, the hardware quality may leave something to be desired. For example, the base and handset could feel a bit hollow to you if you're accustomed to the thicker plastic found in Polycoms.
I purchased these items for both our US and European Operations so I could video conference with my other traders. Upon receipt of this device and upgrading the firmware to the latest it just got stuck. You wait three days to get customer support. End result they say send it back.
If you want to spend more time trying to get a device to work than actually making money using it, then get this phone. Going with Siemens. At least when you have a problem the turn around time is ONE HOUR !
Touch interface needs improvements
Whether you're on board with combining Flickr and desk phone or not, the GXV 3175 is an exciting product. The Internet browser application is the best one we've tried on a desk phone to date. GXV 3175 to GXV 3175 video calling worked seamlessly (no surprise), and there is evidence that video will play nice with others as well. The phone offers so many features that I'm sure we left a lot of stones unturned. Is it perfect?
Cannot recommend Grandstream
We used this and several other Grandstream voice and video phones for about a year before giving up on them. Grandstream phones are about the lowest cost IP phones available. They will work as a basic voip phone, for dialing and receiving calls. That is about all I can say that is positive about them. If you want to use ALL the latest VoIP and PBX features, Grandstream will leave you wanting. The firmware is buggy and features often don't work correctly.
Very affordable, Feature-packed
We were impressed with this phone, which is no surprise considering that we also liked the GXP 2020 when we reviewed it last year. The GXP 2100 does just about everything comparable VoIP phones from competing manufacturers can do at a fraction of the price.
Very affordable - A lot of bang for your buck
The Grandstream GXP 2020 Enterprise SIP phone is in the company's GXP series of phones, a line that focuses on devices that are "feature rich, auto-provisionable for mass deployment, easy to use and competitively priced". The company specializes in very affordable VoIP equipment and the GXP 2020 is no exception. At around $80, this phone is probably one of the most affordable 'executive class' phones on the market.
