Great for last mintue ironers
I absolutely love this iron, I have always purchased Rowenta products because i find there brand to be reliable. But this iron really takes it to the next level. The iron takes moments to heat up, it is easy to use and great for all fabrics. The new eco boost function is great and gets the steam really going fast. I would recommend anyone that loves a steamer but wants the versatility of an iron to get this product.
Beautiful iron, nice overall
Got the iron a few days ago. I needed to iron some clothes. So I gave this new Rowenta dw2090 iron a try. The retracting cord had to be depressed a few times for the cord to come out and retract properly. Not what I expected for a $60.00 iron, but then again most of the irons or related items on the market seemed to have this problem. I will try to apply a small coat of sil-glyde on the cord to see if it would help with the retraction.
Ironing is a breeze
So far the iron works good. The only real issue I have with it is that there is not an "off" button/dial. It shuts off automaticly after 8 min. or 2 if you lay it on the side. I end up just unplugging it but would prefer to turn it off first. Also I have noticed I have accidently hit the temperature dial while ironing, turning the temp. up more than desired. Overall the product is good.
Much better than any iron I've ever owned
This iron works really well, I've only had it a couple of months so I don't have alot of input about the leaking factor I read about. So far, it's operational and has not leaked, produces alot of steam and a stream of water if you want. It automatically turns off when not used for a little while, I guess would be a good feature for some, but if I'm ironing something I sewing on, I go back/forth to the iron and find it cuts off by the time I sew a little more and then come back to iron what...
Does the steam well
I think I might be lucky. I don't know why other reviewers had issues with this iron, but as long as you start ironing after it becomes hot, there is no issue with the steam. It is heavy, non stick, does the steam well, and overall a very good iron.
My only complaint is that the cable management could have been better, i.e.: many high quality irons have a "trench" that you can roll the cable around, but that's only a minor issue.
Wow. You will not believe the German quality and ease of ironing or amount of steam from this Iron. If you are tired of the inferior quality of irons that don't last, or don't work that well, then treat yourself to a truly well engineered steam iron. Be sure to read the instructions and use regular tap water, not distilled!. This iron is the finest steam iron anywhere, period. The German made model DW8080 ProMaster is the model of choice for wise consumers.
