The latest wireless routers often support 802.11ac which is a step up from the 802.11n standard and offers substantially higher throughputs at better range. Even though 802.11 ac can theoretically support almost 1GBps speeds the current devices on the market only support speeds of 450 Mbps to 900 Mbps.
