Even better than it looks
This monitor is even nicer than it looks. I ordered it for my mom when her old monitor broke. She uses the computer for emails, web surfing, Skype, watching some online tv, etc. I love that this screen goes all the way to the edges with no bezel surrounding it. The actual picture display goes almost to the edge. Such a sleek looking monitor. HD movies look awesome. Very happy.
Looks good, feels okay
was really skeptical when I first saw this deal. A stylish, cheap, and IPS monitor. After a few decent reviews I decided to order and give AOC a try.
When I first opened up the box, everything looked amazing and gorgeous. Once I started to put it together, I began to have my doubts. I assembled everything together, however my monitor was slightly tilted. When I checked the stand, I noticed that the monitor was not completely locked into place.
Good valued product for the Price
I recently bought this after comparing several other monitors. First, I had an AOC 27" monitor. The picture was decent and it looked nice, but the matte finish was too grainy. Particularly with only a 1920x1080 resolution, it was a large monitor for that resolution and it looked too harsh. So, I then gravitated to a Dell 27" S2740. This was much nicer, and looked beautiful. I was just a little uneasy with how pixelated the images and icons looked.
Nice IPS monitor for the price, but there are caveats
My reliable HP 2509m monitor got the black screen of death after 3 years of use. I began researching IPS monitors and I had narrowed my selections to Asus, Dell and Viewsonic, but at the last moment HP released the Xi series of IPS monitors with great specs: an IPS LED-lit panel with an almost bezeless screen, with HDMI, DVI and VGA, all for less than the price of competitors I researched.
I don't think there's anything bad about these monitors except for the fact that the speakers don't have a lot of bass. Of course, these are monitors, not speakers. Everything else in amazing, the picture looks great, the monitors look pretty. They're thin. It's as if it was made to be the perfect girlfriend. Looks pretty, thin, it's bright, plays video games with you, and you can have 3 at the same time.
Competitively priced, and will do a job
At this kind of price point you either expect build quality or display quality to take a back seat. Well, the general build quality is fine but it isn't sealed well so there are light leaks and the display isn't as good. It's certainly a competitive price, and will do a job, but it's more suited for office-style applications than photographic or visual-based ones.
An Excellent Screen
I'm very pleased with this purchase. The one issue I was mildly concerned about, the stand, is actually no problem at all. The screen is mounted on a swivel that gives a (for my needs) adequate range - you can tilt it so the screen is slightly inclined toward the front, or back slightly. Otherwise, it pairs without problem with my MacBook. Good stuff.
Easy setup and great value for use with Mac Mini or Macbook
I found this monitor very easy to use with my Macbook and Mac Mini. The easiest way to improve the not-so-good out of the box color is to set it on the monitor to sRGB and use the ColorSync expert settings in the display system preferences in OSX to calibrate. For the money, there are very few monitors on the same level as this one! I found the 22" to be a bit on the small side, so if you have the desk space, you'd be better off going with the 23" or 27".
