Practical stand, connections and hardware features
On the whole, LG has done an excellent job with the 27" Flatron 27EA83 "ColorPrime" monitor. It's stylish, practical and ensures first-rate colour fidelity. It missed out on a five-star review for its relatively low contrast and a response time that's not fast enough for gamers.
I bought this as a 2nd monitor since I do a lot of work where I need the desktop space (writing a dissertation). This one blows the doors off of my main monitor (Asus VW266H) in terms of color, contrast, and brightness. I did not expect this to be so nice. It's very thin and light and thanks to LEDs it uses very little power (cool to the touch, front and back).
Very good image quality
The Lenovo ThinkVision LT2323z is a 23-inch IPS LED panel monitor that has a business-focused design and feature set. It is the first monitor to be certified for use with Microsoft Lync, a business-focused VOIP technology. It also has a 1080p resolution and extra wide viewing angles in addition to very good image quality.
Capable of very realistic colors
The ViewSonic VX2253mh-LED is one of three ultra-slim, LCD monitors between 2â?? and 27â?? released together in early 2011. As an upgrade from the VA2248m-LED, the ViewSonic VX2253mh-LED offers a slimmer bezel with LED backlighting, an improved 30,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a faster 2ms response time, SRS Premium Sound stereo speakers, and two HDMI inputs.
Another strong sub-£200 flat-panel, and this one offers copious screen space. It isn't always the easiest to operate, and its design tends towards the basic. But its given green credentials, lean casing and carefully weighted colour palette make it a very appetising buy, and a snip at a mere £155.
Decent image quality
Offering decent image quality at a low price, the Viewsonic VX2453mh-LED enters an aggressive part of the market with an aggressively-specced monitor. The 30,000,000:1 contrast ratio is of course nonsense, but the dual HDMI inputs and a stand that lets it sit flush with a work surface or stand up like a standard computer screen give it a few worthwhile advantages over budget rivals.
A huge number of inputs - dual DVI, VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, component and composite
The Dell UltraSharp U2410 is a 24â?? flat panel LCD computer monitor. The display is fully HD compatible, due to its 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. The aspect ratio of the U2410 is set at 16:10, meaning it's capable of displaying widescreen video content while still maintaining enough vertical space to be useful for productivity applications and web browsing.
Our only negative point on the screen is that once again Dell has inset the panel itself, so the image partly reflects on the bezel. You soon get used to it though, and with this screen sitting on your desk the vast array of positives soon outweigh the single negative. The only way to get better quality than the Dell UltraSharp U2410 is to spend a lot more money â?? if you need 24-inch, are on a budget but still need great quality images, we can wholeheartedly recommend this screen.
