Extremely easy to use
Hopefully the initially expensive prices will fall, because without that advantage, the Fuze looks distinctly out of sorts. It's a fine player with many worthy features, a lovely design and an interface that's extremely easy to use, but it's far from perfect. Disappointing video handling, and sound quality that doesn't quite match the competition means it has to undercut players such as the nano and Creative Zen significantly on price. Unfortunately, the price isn't quite low enough.
The brushed metal casing looks and feels robust while exterior controls are limited to a power on/off button and an LCD/TV switch, everything else being controlled through the touchscreen.
Very capable but also very big and very heavy - and with way too many 'extra cost' features for our taste.
we had music on the device, ready to play, we were very impressed by the playback controls.
We think that most handheld device manufacturers could learn something from Apple's iPhone, and this is true with Archos as well, but this is a rare case where we think Apple could learn something themselves. Archos' content portal, which offers over the air downloads, is a polished, accessible and well-stocked store, offering high-quality content that you'll actually want to see, albeit at a premium price.
